thats like comparing a soft pad connected to Konamix with an 8th mix arcade machine.

The difference is night and day. Stepmania is far superior!

It has much more custimization and features than DWI.
It's as close to a DDR simulator as you can get (excluding home versions)
The timing is closer to the arcade than dwi (yes, you can change dwi's but you can sleo change stepmanias)

I can't really list all the differences, it helps if you play on both setups. You WILL like stepmania more, trust me E13.gif

Meh, that's coming from a bias'd for SM view...

Now I use SM, DWI does stink, however, this is what I find that is different:

DWI works on slower machines
DWI is easier to work with
DWI takes less sytem resources

SM is more customizable
SM has more power
SM has more features

It's really trade-offs, if your comp. cannot run SM, DWI is just as good (it does all the base things SM does). SM just looks purdy biggrin.gif E4.gif

We haven't had one in a while and the fact that similar (ie: bar-hugging/speed mod) threads in other forums have been going fairly successfully makes me have faith in this staying relatively flame-free.

But I'll be keeping an eye on it and see if we can have a sensible discussion about the difference in DWI and SM.

I like Stepmania because DWI gives me the blue screen of death whenever I play. It is also not as feature full as SM.

Stepmania has far more features...

Also, Stepmania can run both .sm and .dwi files, while DWI can only run .dwi files.
