Tourament stratagy

When you are in a tourament, do you ever perform better then you would usualy do? I am not talking about cheating, but just getting into the zone as I would call it. And if so share it with other people like me who do not perform well in touraments ever due to preasure and other things being nervous.

I played in one tournament, and managed to really bungle the song. I get nervous,I suppose. Here's hoping I qual next time.

Hell yeah. The crowd motivates me to play better. I think "If I don't play well, I'll look bad. And I don't want that." On my last tourney, I sucked buttocks. On my first round, I did Drop Out 1.5x and my opponent got me by about 70 perfects. On the next song I did Across the Nightmare 1.5x and in the middle of the song, I said "frick it." And I lost in front of some girls from my school. Luckily. none of them were hot.
