In addition to the new (and very fun) Eye Toy modes on DDR Extreme for PS2, there will be some mini-games added to the release as well. The details are still unknown, but my guess is that it will be similar in style to the basic Eye Toy mini-games available already. This feature adds more variety to the game in a party atmosphere.

This sounds kinda cool....NOT!!

This sounds really crappy, they're changing DDR too much!! ;_;

Although the Eye Toy that I have will now come in handy..after having EyeToy: Play and renting the crappy EyeToy: Groove.

Whoops sorry. No details yet, but I expect them to be pretty standard.

They're trying to ride Eyetoy's success E1.gif

Don't blame a playa for playing.

Having DDR marketed under Eyetoy products will, more than likely, bring DDR into many more houses. It's a crappy way to get it out there, but as long as it keeps DDR going, I'm all for it.

1) You are not required to PLAY these new modes.
2) Do you like freeze arrows? Speed mods? That could also be considered "changing DDR too much." Without innovation the game would have died long ago.

Very true dude. Even though the Eye Toy modes will be on the game, I don't think that it will make me want to go out a buy an Eye Toy. I don't know. And from the screens that you guys provided of Extreme USA, it looks like they changed the whole game design (for the worse, it looks like Ultramix too much)

i hope because of the eye toy, it allows you to play without a pad kinda the eye toy games but you hit the arrows with your feet.

Ok, so I guess I didn't really think over it much.

Yeah, it's gonna have them raking in money.....and a lot of it. Since the EyeToy is kinda cool....well, a lot of people are bound to have the EyeToy.

It looks really challenging...that one mode where you hit the left thing and the right thing with your arm, while dancing...*Imagines someone playing bag with that mode* @_@;;

I agree though. The way that it looks, it looks too simple. Really, I think they got a kick out of making Ultramix look like that...I wonder.

It's not as bad as you people make it out to be. It's quite fun, actually. Trust me. It adds a lot to the game because now you HAVE to move your arms around while playing, and it's not easy.

Please let's not drag the interface and who made it thing in here.....

frust.gif It can't be compared to Ultramix by "who made it" as Konami Hawaii did Ultramix and KCET is STILL doing the PS2 one.... Yes we all know "it doesn't look like EX arcade or CS" but so what.... it's still being done by THE SAME PEOPLE and it's just a beta interface. Alot can change or nothing can change... I'm not saying don't do any griping, just don't start any wars over it. Look at how much Ultra mix changed from E3 to release last year.... a hell of alot! frust.gif

now as for the mini games.... nice idea. Definitely makes DDR try to be a more over all Party game. As long as they have to do with dancing DDR style in some way shap or form (yes, I include PPP style in this) then I deam it apropriate. riiight.gif

If you think Konami is riding on the EyeToy, look at Sega, with Sega SuperStars. Although EyeToy Samba De Amigo can't possibly be THAT bad.

This is bound to be great as far as im concerned. It just makes ddr more challenging. And it makes all of us "pro" players something new to do. I dunno, the games may be fun!!

So Konami obviously knows how to set up the eyetoy to register hand motions in regions of the screen (link below... second screenshot)...

When will they use this for DanceManiax???

I honestly think that IF this eyetoy idea of theirs gets some response, that will be their next step. Just bundle the game with odd colored gloves so that they register differently than all the other motion.

But I think the eyetoy addons are cool... but I'm not going to get one just for Extreme... unless it comes with a $10 off coupon...
