Is there a way to catagorize songs by name yet have it so it switches back to the mix wheel with the songs organized by mixes?

Last time I checked, it does that by default.

Put them in folders inside your songs folder. E.G.:
Stepmania/songs/DDR 1st Mix

I'm not sure exactly what you mean...if you mean alphabetically within each mix, then thats automatically. If you mean put it into folders coresponding to letters and then having it sort by mix, then no, because the game has no way of knowing what mix a song is actually from (its all based on the folders you put them in).

You can press left and right at the same time to change the sort (like you would at the arcade). The sorts include: organized by folder you put the songs in, alphabetically by song title, BPM, alphabetically by artist, and Player's Best (most played)...I think there might be one more, but if there is I can't remember it offhand.

I mean the way the game puts all songs in alphabetical order and I also tried the pushing left and right at the same time but that didn't work. Not putting them in order by folder.

Yes, pushing left+right at the same time like at the arcade works. Try again...also, I think up->down->up->down (either that or the inverse) on the pad or keyboard will change the sort as well.

What are you pushing left right on cause that has never worked for me either but up down up down does work in all themes but extreme. (At least on my computer)

I've always pressed left+right on the keyboard...I think in some versions it may be left+right+enter...that would be another thing to try if left+right doesn't work.
