I am purchasing a new soft pad soon and I'm contemplating whether I should modify it. It is a pad by Konami, and it is just the basic soft pad. I have read only a little about modifying and not sure how I should come about modifying my new pad. I currently own a red octane soft pad that is about a year old (not modified) and is just starting to become unresponsive, so I thought modifying may lengthen my new pad's life. What should I do? well, if you want an original konami soft pad to last longer than a week you should probably mod it. What level of songs are you playing? How many feet?

sure. If you don't see yourself upgrading to a metal or homebuilt pad in the near future, modding the pad improves its performance and its lifespan. Just mod it before you wear it out, not after; making your pad durable doesn't matter if it's broken already.

Well, I mostly play 7's and 8's, and some 9's. And I also tend to slide on the pad alot. My old red octane pad got torn because of this.....hehe.
