Built a CF replica (its pretty much exactly the same as the CF, except it has LED lighting, and a 25 pin connector, so two pads can be hooked to one control box (custom USB control box.)

Like I said, total cost was somewhere around $45. I had a couple of the supplies out in the shop, so that cut down a bit on price, but if I had to buy all the supplies, the price would only be like $100 total E1.gif

nevermind the ink wearing off of the graphics onto the lexan, I need to get some laminated graphics for it. I just printed those up on my wide format printer.

I did fix the problem with the screws working their way out of the CF by getting bolts and locknuts, and putting them all the way through the base, with a small recess on the back for the nuts, instead of just screwing into the wood like the CF.

$45 seems pretty cheap. I spent like $40 on my modded generic softmat...
It'll be nice if you posted a parts list or a guide to building it, hehe

Yeah, this topic seems useless unless you explain how you built it. . .

Wow, that looks pretty nice. I like the fix for the screw issue - judging by those bolts, it looks like it eliminates (or at least severely reduces) torn foot/sock problems when sliders play.

The one thing I'd be interested in trying would be bevelling the edges of the panels so they're not as sharp. Would that reduce their pliability?

Seriously, I'd pay $100 for one like that. I love my CF, but I could use a second hihg-quality pad for doubles.
