seems like this should go in here - the tournaments board is specific tournaments....

In any case, in the tournaments that I've seen, being the higher seed gives some sort of external advantage (aside from simply not having to play other really good players), such as picking sides, or even the song that is to be played.

In this format (and I think it is unique to DDR) what happens in the event of an upset? For example, if the 16th seed beats down the 1st seed, does the 16th seed take over the highest, or ishe/she forced to be under the 8-ball over and over again?

most tourneys are seeded, so if the 16 seed beats the 1 seed, they'd just continue on in the bracket and play the 8 or 9 seed in the second round..they don't just get screwed into having to play the #2 seed..hence why it's important where you seed sometimes (especially if one side of the bracket gets stacked with good players, you want to be on the other side biggrin.gif)
1v16
8-9

4v13
5v12
-----------
3v14
6v11

7v10
2v15

above is how it's usually seeded, and people in those pairs play the winner next, then play the one with them on the side of the line after that..just like the ncaa tourney

i dont think you understood his question.
neways, the 16th would be forced to be under the 8th.

So the bottom seed essentially has to keep on working against the disadvantage? Interesting....

The forum is clearly marked, Tournament Discussion. Which means all tournament discussion should go there.
