So, like, I'm using Stepmania 3.95, and when I try to load it up using either Paintmania or ITG Beta6.0 as the theme, it crashes. Uh...

Those themes don't work on CVS, get 3.9

There's a better ITG2 themes for CVS, it's called Groove 2.2

Paintmania is absolute crap and anyone that has used it will say the same. I hardly got 2 songs in before I changed it it looks so bad (can't see your mods? WTF). A monkey could do better. It would also help if this weren't a joke theme.

I have 3.9, and it seems when I'm using my profile, I can't play songs with background videos.

Try deleting your profile and starting a new one. This may also not work if you're using 3.95 and forgot.

Whenever i try to start Stepmania I get a runtime error...Like 60% of the time. Everything is default, I do nothing but add songs or work on the ones I have. It's an on and off thing.I want this to stop completely -_-;

I believe this is the work of your computer. I've never gotten, this, so I'm not help, but I'm thinking you might also want to re-install it. To make sure it isn't work of your computer, right click the desktop, and go top Properties>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot and make sure Program Accelerating is at max. Other than that, re-installing my be your best option.

Hi. Two questions regarding Stepmania 3.95 CVS:

1) Is it possible to show the letter grade of the songs on the wheel? I know 3.9 does it, but 3.95 seems to have it disabled and I can't seem to figure out where it is being disabled.

2) Not really a tech problem, but since I'm in this thread anyway: is there any "big" differences between 3.9 and 3.95? I know 3.95 has the ability to read rolls and SMO, but anything else? Any bugs in 3.95 that can't be found in 3.9?

3.95 reads noteskins and themes a little differently (almost like 4.0 iirc). Most theme makers also base their ITG themes on 3.95, so an ITG theme may not work on 3.9. It also eliminates the Pink/Red squares.

The most recent release of 4.0 doesn't work with SMOnline. You have to use the previous update.
