I bought a PSX USB adapter from RadioShack and I tried it out on my Mac. After mapping some buttons from USB Overdrive and then uninstalling USB Overdrive, I did some SM. Okay, fine, the adapter works fine with a normal PS2 controller.

Now the dance pad... -_-;;

This is the official KONAMI pad, and while it works to get around the menus, it completely bombs out during play. It will not register jumps, nor even single steps, though it did wake up if I had to do some 1/8ths (and with good timing too...never messed with timing options, btw).

Thinking it might've been some Mac thing (and may Jebus help me if I can't play with my favorite computer), I tried it on my dad's PC. Installed the drivers (Mac OS X has several drivers...it hardly needed things to be installed), and started up SM. Again, it did the exact same thing on the Mac, if not worse. Sometimes a step wouldn't register, and it'd wake up again on 1/8ths.

So, what can I do? I really hope I don't have to buy a new pad... >.<;;

The problem is your USB Converter. Don't use the radioshack kind. Instead, use this or this one.
