DDR Extreme (Japanese) is released today boasting more than one hundred songs (including almost every new song on the arcade version of DDR Extreme and all the paranoias, just to mention a few), new/modified oni and nonstop, unlockable songs/features, and a couple new songs (to Japan's DDR market as well as new in general).

Some nonstop (and oni) courses have some songs changed (Trick, Macho, etc.) and songs that were offsync (Hyper Eurobeat and Stoic) have had their 'gap values' changed so that they sync up.

If you have a Japanese PS2, DDR Extreme sells for $60 on YesAsia with free shipping to the US. Please note that this will not work on unmodded domestic PS2s.

A complete songlist can be found here.

Wait a sec, please excuse me for not finding out about this earlier, but........EVERY song from the arcade version?!?!

Do you mean every NEW song to Extreme, or just plain EVERY song? Cause wow, there's alot of songs that have already been on the other CS mixes.....That would totally own if this was identical to the arcade song list, and THEN some.........

It's true. Someone has compiled a partial stepchart for MAX. (period). I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that it gets up to 600 BPM at one point. You can get the song on Aaron's forums.

i wish i had a modded PS2 right about now x.x

Well its possible for konami to put 100 songs on one CD which makes me wonder why didnt they add more song to DDR MAX2?

I also think they need to stop putting songs from other home versions cause it just takes up space.

maybe the extreme disc is a dvd like ffX. So it'll hold a lot more. Just a thought though :S

You just got Max2 (US), I'm sure it won't be fatal if you'd show some patience.

Sure can't wait for this though, it'll compliment my 6th and 7th Mixes quite well. Extreme is a godsend for us importers.

All the PS2 DDR mixes (except Max1 JP) have been released on DVDs, albeit like 80% empty.

In terms of space, they could easily include every single song from every single DDR game (including backgrounds, etc) and still have room to spare. I doubt they'd even need to use a double layered, 8GB DVD.

It hasn't been announced, so until the day where it is (assuming it will come out), the answer is "never".

Understand that the US released of 'Extreme' (provided that, that's what they name it) will most likely differ from the JPN Extreme. Look at the US and JPN releases of Max 2 and Max.

I just use a swap disc. It's pretty easy and you don't have to change anything inside your PS2.
