The folks at GamesAreFun have posted some new DDRMAX2 USA screenshots today.

Among the 13 screenshots, a screenshot shows a number of nonstop courses, including three custom courses that can be made by the user and a random course. While Nonstop mode is now a lock for the game, it remains unclear if Oni mode will be reappearing.

DDRMAX2 is scheduled to ship for the US Playstation 2 early October 2003.

So that is nonstop? For sure? I don't know if thats oni or nonstop since it looks so similar to the Japanese make-your-own-oni editor. The only definitive clue I see is the text "Can you keep dancing to the end?" The article didn't say anything informative either way about oni or nonstop. They only said that we were getting beginner mode but we already knew that.

OOH OOH! I know what song that is in information mode! laugh.gif
*starts working on the rest of the screenschots*

My leaning towards that being Nonstop instead of Oni is two fold:

1) The "Change Difficulty" indicators at the bottom.
2) The fact that Konami did a very lazy black-bar edit over the text which was previously used for Oni mode.

More 1 than 2, admittedly.

Definitely Rain of Sorrow. I know the last few steps of that song, and there's no mistaking them.

Either That's 'Breakdown' and 'Crash!', or they're recycling backgrounds... (quite likely, actually)
The "Hit Station" nonstop course implies some of the licenced songs will be well known 'hits' ("Days go by" for one)...

I find it odd that there's a three song nonstop course, but....meh, no biggie.

Didn't Konami confirm a while back that "All the modes from DDRMax (USA) would be present and then some" or something like that? If so, Oni has to be there.

The only songs I'd be willing to bet on definitely being in there are Maxx unlimited, Kakumei, and Tsugaru.....

My hopes:
Paranoia Survivor (and other Extreme songs)
Samba de janeiro
Long train Runnin'
Good US liscenced songs
Endless Mode (in addition to nonstop)
Some nice classics never before on a US release (Dam Daridam, Boom Boom Dollar K.O.G. , Ghosts(yeah, right) , So Deep, Telephone Operator, and Twilight zone come to mind)
and most importantly Create an oni mode.

Um... I guess that's all I've got for now....

Wait ... that black bar is in the game? shocked.gif I thought someone just tampered with the screenshot. I couldn't imagine why though. That is a really bizzare place to see a black box in any case however.

We have Rain of Sorrow! I don't seem to recognize some of the step patterns in the new screen shots, so we must have new exclusives. I'm betting that these step patterns are exclusives from IIDX songs.

Looks like Jam and Marmalade is making a return from the screenshots.

if you are making that assumption based upon the video footage then you could be hairy baboon ass faced wrong...i mean there will be repeats and that is very likely but to say it because of the video footage is not a solid ground to walk on. It could very well be that it's footage from Flash in the Night...which would be heaven for me. E1.gif However if you are making that assumption based upon the steps which don't look like Flash in the Night to me then you might be correct and would not have such a hairy baboon ass face, if any at all, for that matter. We're getting Can't Stop Fallin' In Love again. yay?
That doubles screen... perhaps it's CSFIL Speed Mix? biggrin.gif

I also see STANDARD is back to that red-violet color instead of yellow, as well as green HEAVY. No more of this "we're going back to Standard/Difficult/Expert" talk, I hope.

And E11.gif we're getting random nonstops!

The bumper card could either be La Copa da Vida or Trance De Janeiro. Makes more sense for the latter, though the former wouldn't surprise me the least bit.

Judging from those BGs in one of the screenshots, I hope Flash In The Night makes a much-needed return.

okay...but...judging from the steps which can't be disputed...it isn't. remember background videos mean nothing.

That doubles screenshot could also be Silent Hill, it has the same step pattern like that. And that part is pretty close to the end, so the score would make sense if they're doing the footrating * 10 scoring method.
Also, on analyzing the stepchart for Silent Hill Heavy doubles, there are 269 steps, and 228 before the RLRL part shown in the screenshot. Up until that point, a full combo is also 248 steps. If two more steps were taken, you get a 250 combo. Also, approximate score for such a place is around 51.3 million. Is it yet safe to say that the screenshot is Silent Hill? Probably...

I'm bored, so lets list these:

Screen 01: Silent Hill
Screen 02: Unkown
Screen 03: Breakdown
Screen 04: Breakdown
Screen 07: Breakdown
Screen 08: Spin the Disc
Screen 09: Rain of Sorrow
Screen 10: Rain of Sorrow
Screen 11: Rain of Sorrow
Screen 12: Rain of Sorrow
Screen 13: Rain of Sorrow

So the release date is now somewhere in October, and not September?

Konami's official site says October.
Konami's line to the media has been October.

The only reputable source that hasn't said October is Cryptic, who in our MAX2 thread said it would be shipping the LAST week of September. I figured it'd be better to side closer to October than September for the purpose of this article.

I've pointed out about 50 times why trusted mismatching dates from online retailers is a bad idea. E10.gif
