Font characters, not dancing characters

When I look in the Fonts folder of a theme, there are always a bunch of large pictures with Japanese characters, Kanji, and symbols.

My question is this: What do I put into the .sm file to get the symbols to show up? For some songs (TLOM, Kakumei) symbols automatically show up already, with 'ZZ' and 'Kakumei' written. I thought this might be common, but it also happened for Ba Kkwo, and characters for an artist for some random original I downloaded.

Anyone know how I can voluntarily get these symbols/characters to show up?

Much thanks

[edit] Also, how do I get characters to appear in courses (Le Gen Do)? I.E., #displaytitle, #displayartist, etc.

Thanks again [/edit]

The SM file doesn't seem to support this feature. The way SM does this is that specific songs are coded in Stepmania/Data/Translation.dat.

The file can be edited to add translations for specific songs, artists, subtitles, various rare mixes, and some other things. I don't know how courses are arranged, but if you want to add songs/artists/etc to the list, you'll have to use a similar code in the correct place. This doesn't always work, however.

Alright, I'll play around with that for a bit then, thanks much.

[edit] Found my problem. I had to type 'Road of Legend' rather then 'Le Gen Do.' [/edit]
