8th style was pretty hard. The ending of Please Don't Go-A is pretty hard, and so is the second half of Sakura-A. Giudecca-A is kind of hard, too. 8th doesn't have as many hard songs as 7th, but it's got a few...

I'm going to have to, at least personally, agree on this point.

Spica [A] seems like the only Another in 7th Style that's not possible. I'm actually coming close on Colors [A] and A [A] now!

On the other hand, there are at least four anothers in 8th Style I've all but given up on : LAB, Sakura, Xenon and Please Don't Go. Blame and Guidecca weren't much fun either and I still fail them both regularly. frust.gif

I'm going to have protest Lab-A in that list. Eric, I'm 100% positive you can pass Lab-A if you try ;-) I got Xenon-A and Lab-A my first try.

To whoever said "Yeah, but that's another", why do you judge how hard a style is by light-7 or 7-key mode or whatever? I judge it by the harder stuff. And there are a lot of songs I haven't ever bothered playing on 7-key, much the same way I haven't playedd a lot of songs on DDR on standard ;p

I hope 9th style has fun anothers. ;) And no more 320 BPM songs!!! Sviggle's screen isn't good enough for it ;-(

From what I've seen in videos and mp3's, 9th style seems to be pretty hard. The two flagship songs from the initial location test seemed to be the hardest, One or Eight and Distress. Both had sizeable amounst of scratches at the end and, in the case of One or Eight, have amazing last measures. Moon_Child is described as being mostly ALL scales, with the ending something close to the double piano rolls in Red Nikita.

I agree with Crystal completely, I rate a style by how hard the anothers and flashing 7's are. After you get to the point where you've passed all the 7's in the game, there's no point in seeing/playing other songs for a challenge.

In response to DKW's post, the songlist has a lot of variety. From Hardcore Rave to Turkish Piano and Bass to Mixture (Konami's heavy metal/hard rock).

Last I heard, the official date is still June sometime, which probably means July.

Hmm... I guess you're right. Looking at the list with difficulty ratings for all the songs (see the IIDX thread), it looks like 8th Style, though it's songs on 7-key are often pretty damn easy, has a lot of brutal Anothers.

However, if you're still working your way up to the "Flashing 7" difficulty (i.e. not really playing much Another), 8th Style will be easier. When you're working on Anothers, though, it'll be brutal. Seems like a mean way to do things, though. =/ You can't see how hard a song will be on Another until you play it. It would also be nice if they didn't horribly overrate a lot of songs in the 6+ range. xenon is flashing? Monkey Dance is 7 stars?

I am extremely close on both - into the 70s on a regular basis. Xenon's ending is the only hard part - the concentration on 5, 6 and 7 throw me - part of the same reason I have a hard time with Sync [A].

Lab sucks because I can't scratch E4.gif

Agreed. I was disappointed when I beat each new 8th Style on 7-key my first try. Now I don't even bother playing most 7-key versions anymore. I guess it depends on the individual player.

I have read that Safari is going to have an another, but haven't seen any proof yet. All I'm hoping for is one for Two Days of Love E15.gif

This japanese website says that Summer Vacation, The Safari, and Absolute will now have anothers.

But then again there's a prbability this info could be false, so don't quote me on this.

I knew Summer Vacation would get an Another, never thought Absolute would though. Also since they claimed that hard songs without Anothers will be getting Anothers, is there any news on MAX300 [A].

Right. It says quite the opposite, which is quite disappointing.

Anyway, I'm kinda disappointed that those songs don't have Anothers, even if I'd never pass them anyway. I'm not really sure why, though.

Did anyone notice that none of the hidden songs from 8th Style are in the list? (Sakura, Xenon, Strong Jaeger, etc.)?

Yeah, I also noticed that Stoic and Rottel-da-Sun were gone as well. Weird, over here, they're played like crazy.

edit: Smoke and Romeo and Juliet are gone as well.
