The official songlist for the DDR Extreme OST has been made available by Toshiba-EMI. Thirty songs from Extreme will be featured on this two-disc set, as well as a long version of Graduation and the nonstop megamix.

The album ships in Japan on March 26th. No US release is planned.

Only 30 songs? About 15 on each disc?

If thats the case, it doesn't really make much sense. There was over 50 songs introduced into ddr extreme. Yes, many of those songs are old, but still.

thats why you buy previous ddr cds...

why put songs and waste space on cds if they were already out on previous cds?

You're quite the pessimist. I clicked the same link and I saw 37 songs on disk 1 and 32 songs on disk2. Disk one had all of the new to Bemani songs plus some of the yellow crossovers. Disk one also has the exclusive Graduation full version. And the megamix disc two looks promising. PS and PSM are back to back like the Tsugarus on the MAX2 OST. Thats cool. I like how the megamix ends with the extra stages and TMS too. Remember how the 6th OST ended? With the remix of HVAM and the Candy ( KOG G3 ) remixes? That was really cool. But also remember how dissapointing the MAX2 OST was in that there was almost nothing in the megamix that you didn't hear in the game? Just from the tracklist I'm hoping for more of what made 6th good.

Let me clarify what I meant by "30 songs featured".

Disc 2 is always a megamix - and all 32 of the songs within are on the first disc - so we disregard the entire disc.
Disc 1 has 37 tracks.
Take out the long version of Graduation, that's 36.
Take out production background music - tracks 31-36 - and that leaves 30.

Yes, there's an chance the songs on the megamix will be tweaked versions; time will tell how those come out.

If you're confused, please, look at the list I linked to. It'll make sense.

I do have to admit that the quality of songs appears to be good, but there just isn't enough of them...... I mean 30 songs? Even DDRMAX had more (and that had the least # of tracks on any disc).

Now let's just hope that the nonstop megamix isn't as poorly done as Max2.

That's actually an interesting comparison. Looking from disc to disc, just looking at "playable songs" - no long versions, no home version songs, no remixes, no production music:

2nd Mix OST - 32 songs
3rd Mix OST - 43 songs
4th Mix OST - 42 songs
5th Mix OST - 43 songs
Disney's Rave OST - 25 songs
DDR MAX OST - 36 songs
DDR MAX2 OST - 49 songs if you count the Oni Remixes, 31 if you don't.
DDR Solo 2000 OST - 35 songs

So yes, it's rather ironic that the only OST that has less "game songs" than Extreme - which is supposed to be the biggest and best ever - is Disney's Rave.

Like I said here you may only have about 30 songs, but that just means that the songs will be longer. (Extended Vanity Angel remix anyone?)

With the Nonstops on 4th, 5th and MAX2 having the most songs, they also have the shortest edits of their songs, MAX2's aren't even remixed, they're just the same songs from disc one (minus a few) kinda thrown together.

Extreme's Nonstop should be pretty good. I mean, look at MAX's OST, and it only had about 35. And it was awesome.

this album is weak, half of it is old songs, 1/4 of it are lame and the other 1/4 is fine..... small amount of songs as well, i hope the megamix makes up for it, i also hope they dont mess up legend of max as they did maxx unlimited on the previous megamix -___- (NOW PULL OUT THE MEMORY CARD!)

i'd rather listen to an IIDX soundtrack...

I noticed Sakura isn't on the list. Is there a reason for that?

I'm just thinking it isn't on there, because it's on a IIDX soundtrack allready. But there is the other beatmania tracks on there.

Does this mean there are Mambo-a-go-go Soundtracks out there? I was really hoping for Gamelan de Couple to be on the Extreme Soundtrack.

Guess I'll hunt further....

The reason that some Beatmania IIDX songs are on there (Colors, V, Sync, Blue Impulse) is because they were remixed for Extreme (hence the "For Extreme" tag at the end of the song titles). Songs like Sakura, Xenon, etc. are the exact same versions of IIDX tunes, which is why they are not on the Extreme OST.

Still, I'd love to see a DDR Extreme Ultimate Collection that had game versions of all the Extreme songs -- or at least just the ones that haven't been on a DDR mix beforehand... (sure it would take 2 CD's on its own, but it would be worth it).

I really hope they put out a quality nonstop this time around.

Max 2's was just sad, the songs were barely lengthend, if not shortened, and there were no remixes =(

If it's as quality as the MAX 1 soundtrack was I'll be happy.

Wow, it didn't take long for someone to whine about this.

The OST looks good though, I might have to get it.

I guess I'm the only one who *really* liked the Max2 Nonstop Megamix.

It is interesting that Paranoia Survivor and PS Max are back-to-back. Perhaps it could turn out well like the Tsugaru/Tsugaru (Apple Mix) back-to-back mix, but I'm just hoping it's not an excuse to take two songs and carve 'em into one (Like Paranoia Rebirth/Clean on 3rd Mix's Nonstop Megamix).

And yeah, I *really* liked a whole lot of the Oni remixes, especially Ecstasy and AM-3P, so perhaps that's why I liked the Max2 soundtrack just fine...
