Whenever I go to the arcade, I always see people picking Max 300, instead of Maxx Unlimited, and The Legend of Max. I see people pick Max 300 (Super-Max-Me) Mix about as much as Max 300. Honestly, I find that Maxx Unlimited and The Legend of Max sound better than Max 300. In fact, I find all the other Maxs better than Max 300! What do people like so much about it?!

Maybe because it's not as frigging difficult.

lol - you're probably right - now that I think about it, it's actually one of the easier 10-footers. But the song just sounds cheaper than the other ones...

It was the original Max. It deserves to be up there. Now, about Super Max Me Mix, well, ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

What with my skills having dropped considerably since I stopped playing, I will more often pick 300 than LoM or MU, although I definitely like MU quite a bit.

Maxx Unlimited is my favorite Max TO LISTEN TO also. All of the Maxs are a pain in the ass in terms of steps, though.

Sup two-person conversation.

And well, yeah. I don't particularly listen to much DDR (more of IIDX stuff and some Pop'n) music, but I would agree that MU would be more enjoyable.

Max 300 has been around the longest. Therefore, it stands to reason that that's the max most people are comfortable with, IMO.

As for listening to the actual song... well, I can't really say I like listening to any of the maxes just for fun, although I do have them all [right down to max.(period)] on a CD somewhere.

Now, if max.(period) was on an arcade somewhere, I'd be tearing it up. I hate the song, but I love the steps. 600 BPM for the win! E4.gif

Max 300 is both the most fun steps and best music (this is just my opinion, obviously). Plus, it's (probably) the one most people are most familiar with.

It's 'cause people would always miss HVAM when scrolling too fast and select Max 300 on DDR Max. E15.gif

So they all got really good at it.

Seriously:
It's a real benchmark 10, so it's what a lot of people base their skill levels off of.

Most people try to AA Max 300 before any other 10, even though PS, Sakura, and Xepher are all arguably easier to AA, because it made the leap.

I just wonder when they'll finally start using 11 and 12 difficulty ratings. If they could do it for IIDX, why not DDR?

MaxX Unlimited easily takes the cake for best song. For steps I'd say 300 and MaxX are both awesome. SMMM is good. TLOM is retarded. And where's the love for PARANOiA Survivor?

I love Paranoia Survivor! I say PS is just as hard as Max 300 (I whore those two 10s the most to try to get my AA). Even looking at the groove radar you see how close they are (especially with PSM).

But on topic, Max 300 is like the safe Max. I personally pick it over LOM and MU because I don't feel like I am going to fail (although I can't fail LOM anyway).

I like Max 300 because it doesn't abuse jumps and doesn't have "bar required" streams. The arrows go well with the music and still make it a challenging song.

I like Max 300 in part, due to the name. Like come on man, there is a number after the word "Max!" People dig the numbers! I also think the name "Max 300" rolls off the tongue.

I think the main reason is that Max300 is easy to pass, and most people don't pick MAXX UNLIMITED or TLoM because they either can't pass it or don't want to play a song they can barely pass (doesn't look as good/isn't as fun).

why do people like to bring this up like it makes them sound smarter?

its a ten.

and before someone says BUT IN SUPERDISAPPOINTMENT 2 ITS A 9 NOW OMGZ.

that doesn't matter it is a ten.

so if burning heat was moved from a 9 to a 6 because everyone can pass it and SDG it now, does that make it a 6 now?

This reminds me of when I was reading Anime Insider, and they responded to fanmail about Tokyo Mew Mew by saying, "By the way, it's Mew Mew Power now."

Yeah. Like anyone's really going to call it that.

Sakura used to be a ten, but guess what? Konami re-rated it. The fact that you deny this is either because it's an accomplishment that you can say "YAY I PASSED A TEN NOW! I GOTS MAD SKILLZ!", or that you are simply oblivious to news in the DDR world.

Funny how you contradict yourself, btw.

Correct. This is exactly the point. Konami's most recent rating is the current official status of the song.
