Stepmania and Dance With Intensity require simfiles to play. You can either take your mp3s and turn them into songs, or you can download them.
There is a lot of opinions when it comes to downloading simfiles. Is it legal? Is there a difference between the legality of offical simfiles and unoffical? Is it legal to download a simfile without offical banners and background and stepcharts? Is it legal if you own the song on an arcade machine or console game to download it?
Does anyone know if what you have to do to make a simfile legal to download? And if it isn't legal in any case, why does flash flash revolution and bemanistyle offer hundereds of simfiles free without being shut down? |

this is stickied and yes its legal
but who cares if its legal or not? the government would change that law if they actually did ddr or listen to music. _________________

If you were to download a simfile with no song inside of it, you've basically removed yourself from any possibility (albeit originally small) of getting in legal trouble. _________________

Non-licensed MP3 = legal
Licensed MP# = might as well be legal _________________
