I just wanted to know if there is a way to avoid the game over in step mania. In all the ddr games on the consoles whenever you lose you just go back to the track list, but in stepmania it quits you out and you have to go back into the track list after everytime you fail

Actually, unless set otherwise, all the home versions I know of imitate the arcade version, in which you have to start a new game if you fail any songs. You can set it to Event Mode under "Coin Options", which eliminates this, however. If you still want to play in the set stages mode, but simply do not want failing to occur, you can go to Machine Options and set "Default Fail Type" to "Off".
