Insert Credit has just posted a new article confirming that Mastiff will be releasing Pump It Up Exceed for the PS2 and X-Box in North America. The game will be different than the Korean release from a few months ago, with exclusive songs like Steriogram's "Walkie Talkie Man."

Pump It Up Exceed is currently set for a June release.

Am I the only person that thinks this game is horrible? Sideways arrows are not my thing.

Please keep the DDR vs PIU talk out of this thread, thanks.

But the question remains..

Will they have the static issue with the pad taken care of for this or will it just be a rehash of the J versions?

Cool. Except for the fact that one who plays both (like me) and can't get Cobalt Fluxes like the rest of you have to get a whole other pad for the center button, which I really don't want to do . . .

Cobalts wont work with pump to start with because the only way to possibly do it is to rewire the control box.

I am so happy that Pump it up is coming to US. The only problem I will have about this game though is that the number of songs from the actual PIU game will this game have. I hope it won't turn out like a DDR where there are tons of US songs.

PIU reminds me of DDR solo. *Shudders* Anyway, theres this one girl playing PIU at the roller rink and shes like aceing combos. A few months later, i'm a DDR pro and I think I know why she was aceing. The arrow patterns werent that complex. (One arrow per second almost. *Yawn*) Its sorta odd. Back then you remember things being so hard but a few years later you can do that same "hard" song with a butt load of modifers. ( can do So Deep Heavy x2 boost hidden dark)

Anyway.

I'm also rather optimistic about this, I think it'll also put pressure on Konami to start getting their crap together, realizing that Pump is rising in popularity here as well as DDR.

Competition is always good for the industry.

Is there going to be list of songs posted anytime soon?
What is the percentage of American songs in the game?

And here I am contemplating importing the Korean version... hell I might just get both! :o Wai~ biggrin.gif Let's just hope they don't do anything drastic... say... like take out a large chunk of the Korean and Pop channel licenses. :'( (Wants to play Valenti, but like I said, I want the Korean PIUEXCEED as well. ^.^)

That video for Walkie Talkie Man looks weird... o_O

Last I checked, the original PIU is already in the U.S. on the PC. So it's not like this is the first time a PIU U.S. game was made. Not that anybody plays dancing games on their PC anyway. E4.gif
