....
"L'amour est un Oiseau Rebelle" from the opera "Carmen". |
Oh, you're good.
How about Driving Force Classical? That one's been bugging me for a while now. Is it anything in particular, or just classical-inspired?
And then there's Tell-- nah, just kidding, that one was pretty much a giveaway.
How about Kakumei from DDR? I never got around to asking about that one. |
Ooh, good question. Hmm, Driving Force Classical... well, just Googling it, if it's a remix of anything, I can't find it. If I had to guess, I'd say it's just classical-inspired, as I've noticed that remixes often, but not always, seem to have some sort of reference to their original title or composer in their title. I have to concede, though, that I don't know definitively know one way or the other if Driving Force Classical is a remix of an earlier composition.
Heehee, Tell is obviously a remix of Hermann Necke's "Csikos Post". Also, just kidding.
Synaesthesia is really close on Kakumei. The original is indeed one of Chopin's Etudes. Specifically, it's Etude in C Minor, Opus 10, Number 12, also known as the "Revolutionary Etude".
<unnecessary music geekiness>
I just had to put my 2 cents in here because my freshman year in college, I took a Music in Western Culture course, and our first assignment was to pick any piece of music we wanted, analyze its form, instrumentation, etc. and present it. I was trying to decide between V and Kakumei, and ended up picking Kakumei for some reason. To my surprise, the professor thought Kakumei was pretty cool.
</unnecessary music geekiness>
As for ITG sightings, I heard the original "My Favourite Game" on VH1 a little while ago. Not a huge deal as it's a licensed song, but hey. |

I've been wondering about "Hardcore of the north." it sounds familiar; what classical piece is it based on? |

ARRRGHHH!!!
Kakumei/Etude in Cminor/Chopin's Revolutionary Etude has the hardest friggin left hand part of piano I've ever come across! It's a little hard to hear in Kakumei, but if you listen closely, the fast constant runs on the piano in Kakumei....yeah.....that's ALL LEFT HAND!! Right hand is the "gallops" if you will.
Hardest right hand I've come across is Hungarian Rhapsody #2 by Franz Lizst. It's completely psycho in everything from stretching ridiculous amounts to doing full chords octaves apart constantly only an 18th note apart. URGGH!!
Needless to say, I'm a piano player, and I can.
Not so needless to say, I can play Hungarian Rhapsody #2 and I'm working on Revolutionary Etude
Ok, back to ITG _________________

Not sure if this has been said already, but I've heard D-Code EVERYWHERE. It was on a Comedy Central commercial a while ago, and I just saw it on another commercial recently (not CC). _________________

D-Code and My Favorite Game is everywhere.
Torn, I've heard on this one wmv movie with this mime comedian acting out the word's actions. Funny video.
I've heard Spin Chicken, Lipstick Kiss, Get Happy, Hillbilly Hardcore, Habanera, and Bloodrush on TV at various points (commercials, TV shows, etc) They can be found in various parts of this thread.
I've heard Perfect on some radio station, but who really cares? _________________

Yeah, especially the 5-note arpeggios that run about two octaves near the beginning (not the frick up scales or the C minor arpeggios all over the piece, those are easy enough...), and I'm 13 and my hand size doesn't make playing it on the piano any easier...
Back on topic, that beginning of Driving Force Classical sounds so annoyingly familiar... |
