Yeah, but writing them in 12/8 makes it so you don't have to make every 3 notes a tripilet. _________________

as far as musicality is concerned, faxx has some moments of coolness (the 6/4 gallop section), but a lot of it seems like Naoki just made different whacked-out-but-cool-sounding soundtracks and played them when he wanted. Either way, it's a pretty decent piece imo.
and to be picky about Holic, it's in 7/8 with some 4/4, not 7/4 and 4/4 (if you counted the quarter beats equally for both those time sigs, it wouldn't work out). there are pieces that switch between these time signatures, and they usually group the beats of the 7/8 in either 4-3, 2-2-3, 3-4, or any variant like that. but whatever...holic sounds cool. |

musically its a horrible song. it was designed strictly with its particular steps and tempo stops in mind, rather than creating a normal song to fit steps to. quite a bit of that mindset is noticeable in many songs from itg. _________________

care to name a few? (aside from VerTex^2) |
Just so you know a little more about the person you're going to argue with:

then how can you disagree with me on my statement that "quite a bit" of the in-house-produced songs for itg were made with stepcharts in mind, rather than just being a song that steps are then later fitted to (having no impact on the construction of the song)? because thats all my point was. _________________

Well, you weren't just saying that, or at least that's not how it came across. By saying that Faxx was horrible, and then indicating that there was a parallel between Faxx and many of ITG's songs, it appears you were calling many of ITG's songs "horrible" because they were designed with the steps in mind. Now I agree that some songs (like Euphoria and the Vertexes) were designed with the steps in mind, but that doesn't make the songs horrible. Also, the vast majority of ITG's harder songs are pretty good-sounding, and don't sound like they were just written to have steps put to them. This includes songs like HotN, Delirium, Summer, Destiny, Tell, Charlene, July, Xuxa, Hand of Time, and BYM. _________________

To the creator of this thread,
I thought the musical wtf made the song what it is. Lets overview my initial reactions.
Max300 (Wow 300bpms!)
Maxx Unlimited (I thought I never see more than 300)
The Legend of Max (Sounds like a whole new type! Oh Well)
Max300 Super Max Me mix (Another 300 boo!)
Max. (600bpms?! Konami is nuts!)
Fascination Max (The latest in Max surprises)
The point I'm making? I understand your point of view while a lot of people don't. Just like no expert in music can ever get an Amen for what he or she says here, neither are you.
Tried it before, watched other people try it, never works unless you get the opinions of some famous music directors, Konami officials, and tournament players. We unfortunately have last say so because our opinions are ignored by such people. By saying what I just said, I assume the risk of being in disagreement with someone else. Will I care? Nope! _________________
