The DDRSO at Ferris State University does an annual 24 hour DDR marathon to raise money for charity. Generally they'll set up in the middle of campus in the highest traffic area and take donations and things.

I love the idea of starting a DDR club, and i have over a dozen friends who can help me. I just need advice on what kind of stuff you should say to sway the mindset of a traditional-based principal. |
I think the best thing you can do is have all of the questions answered before the principal can ask them. Things like location, equipment, members, etc., etc. can all serve as an easy excuse for the principal to shoot you down. Here's some recommended reading. http://www.ddrfreak.com/library/contributor-article.php?postID=7811848 _________________
Well, the final total was 207, 342. The fuel pump went out, and since it would cost too much to fix, I donated the Buick to charity.
Fare thee well, Riviera, and God speed. |

lol, 2,000 to 20,000!?
that's so vague.. and not very helpful..
I was wondering how many joined out of everyone at your school, and compare it to my school with the smaller population via some sort of ratio thing I have yet to learn
(1,500 students approx. in my school =\) |

| My school has 'bout 350-400 kids and that's the entire school(Kindergarten through 12th) and I only like 2 other people in my school that have played it. Plus I go to a Christian school so some people would be like "Dancing is evil you heathen! You're listening to *worldly* songs! It's not a very good example of a Christian!" blah blah blah so I don't bother lol |

i've often thought of doing this at my school, and i have played ddr in school on a few occasions ('parties' in classes usually) and its pretty popular and i dont doubt that a proposition like this would be seriously considered at my school. the only reason i'm hesitant to suggest it is that i like ddr as more a fringey, insider type thing that only a few people in the school know about and even fewer play and much fewer are good at. my fear is that it'll become too mainstream and it would lose its value.
even so, i'm considering it, and if the authors wouldnt mind, if i did want to start something at my school, i'd take that paper, change it to fit my location, and give it to the principal or something. again, if the authors gave me consent. (please?) |

speaking of DDR clubs... why dontcha use the high school's anime club to host it? hell, i would! kidding, but it can be useful if there aren't too many anti-DDR sorts there. if there are, well, do what i would do if it was allowed, break their frickin knees!!! _________________
