any physics student can tell you that if you keep the same time (in this case the time between steps) and shorten the distance, the value for velocity will go up. so yar at all of you ball-of-the-foot players.

No, when you decrease distance and keep time constant, velocity goes down. Velocity is distance/time, so when distance decreases, so does velocity. You don't move faster, it's just when the distance is decreased, you don't have to, which of course, saves energy and so on and so forth.

bah, it really was a moot point anyway, as the v=d/t formula can't be used to measure mechanical effort obviously. getting my formulas mixed up XD

I'm flat footed and I play flat footed. Whee. I play on my toes on some of the faster songs for some strange reason.

I play flat footed unless I'm playing songs where you need alot of foot speed (Cartoon Heroes, LoM, Maxx Unlimited.) When I do that though my PA suffers, but when I do those songs flat footed i get a lot more misses but my PA is a lot better, so sometimes I can't decide what to do. Like on Cartoon Heroes flat footed my best is 31 and 3 misses but on my toes its 45 and 1 boo.

depends on how the tourney is run I guess. last tourney I was in was perfect only (which I prefer), so you would've done better flat footing.
