Question: Are PS3 games Blu-Ray only, or can they be on DVD (like how there are some CD-ROM games for PS2, even though most are on DVD)? |
Its not like Konami is maxing out the space on current discs for PS2. They could easily fit more on there (especially if they don't have an individual background video for each song as the trend seems to be now). We don't need more songs on one mix anyways, its good at is. The right amount to keep you going for a year or so. What they need to do is start putting effort into individualized videos, decent characters (that stop dancing with the music stops, maybe even routines made separate for each song), good marathons, a decent "story mode," great interface, good stepcharts, and a vibe of the old ddr (I think most people prefer the themes and bright colors from the max days over the futuristic-techno themes we're starting to get with SN). Arcade compatibility, good implementation of online features (scoreboard, profiles, online community), and the implementation of Solo and Couples charts are other things they need to strive for. Notice, the only thing in this list that requires the PS3 is possibly the individualized videos/dancers (the videos, if high quality, could max out the space). However, I'm sure they could do all of this on a PS2 disc without having to reduce the song list (someone tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought previous releases have only used half of the disc or so).
DDR will continue on PS2 until PS2 is no longer around. It will also continue on Xbox360 and potentially on the Wii. In fact, I'd say the Wii is a better candidate for inheriting the main DDR series than PS3 is. |

but heres the thing, if they made a DDR for Ps3, there may be a change with machines. From wat I heard b4 that some cabinets do have ps2 inside. If that is the case then they would have to make the cabinets with PS3's and if they have ps3's the prices will go up for machines and then the prices to pay will go up and so on _________________
