Yeah, a well maintained arcade pad can be just as good, if not better, then a CF. If you used a CF on an arcade machine, they'd have to have lots of spare CF parts in the back room to replace things that broke, which would happen often. They'd also have to clean and fix up the pads at the end of every day or so, depending on how busy it was that day. It'd be a lot of work, compaired to an arcade pad which shouldn't have to be repaired that often at all.

I have a Flux, and it sucks. I keep it in good condition, yet it still gives pad misses and slides.

Arcade, without a doubt.

I bought seperate shoes specifically for my CF (People spend $350 on a CF then use their nasty buttocks shoes on it? Eww). When I (attempted) to clean it for the first time 10 months after purchase, it was nearly flawless. There were a couple of sweat-oxidation things that came off easily and that was it. New shoes = easy mantainence.

If the machines were kept in good condition and maintained correctly, the arcade for sure. It's fine and all to play on the Cobalt Flux, but it has nothing on the arcade machines. I'd much rather be competing against the community and go into a dance battle versus strangers and rivals alike than get another new high score for a dance game that I play alone. Besides, I like me some flashing lights.
