Well, it basically already has become as such in Japan.

The music is good, too. You can find it in warehouses late at night in San Francisco. Just stay away from the magic pillz. |

well they should combine ddr with dancemaniacs that way you have to use both your feet and hands to match 8 sets of arrows

i saw a machine like that once when i went to china. They had the sensor things where you had to swipe your hands or feet under it like dance maniacs and they had three arrow like things on a pad to step on. _________________

which is kind of a shame, after all the hard work and effort you put into ddr, it makes you wonder what you could've done with your life... sooner in the older generation kids will have a completely different 3D type game simular to DDR but yet its still completely different. Music and Rythem games, its hard to imagine them dying out, but its possible, DDR in general is one of these, sure It may die out, but the genre won't.... at least I hope so or else when I'm old and decrepid, my grandson's will be on some random search engine called GigagoozleG100 doing a report on old style games... which on the very last page they look at will come up with something called... Dance Dance Revolution. Hopefully It won't come to that who am I kidding of course It won't I'll be dead before that happens _________________

I went to an arcade before and seen this game that you only move your arms for songs. I'm thinking if you can combine moving arms and moving legs together, you get a really good DDR game that you can actually learn how to dance with it! Of course, it can be too hard or it prolly will never happen. _________________

The wierd thing is that here in the styx where I live, Napoleon Dynamite is just strating to become 'cool' I recently saw people wearing 'Vote for Pedro' t-shirts and heard the local morning show talking about it. I thought to myself didn't that come out on DVD a long time ago? I guess that one south park episode is right about the midwest being 2 years behind the rest of the country. Perhaps by 2010 we will get an ITG machine |

Uh, yeah, because Para Para Dancing (the style of dance the game is based off of) really uses your hands, right? There are five arrows across the screen, with the charachter in the background (Or DVD cabinet with the para para allstars) doing the routine and you match the routine with the arrows. All with your arms (the ocassional leg, re 100 and Ultra High Heels)
3DDX is DDR + DanceManiax. _________________

Who can have any idea. I mean, even from mix to mix we get people who don't like the new changes (I'm not a big fan of the new setups for extreme and ultramix 2). I think that there will always be DDR as we know it though. of course it will have new graphics, new interface. But still the good ol' four arrow pad. few games make it more then a few years before they make major changes. But since DDR uses it's own controller at home, and has no restrictions at an arcade, it doesn't need to update, like every other game does to confrom to a new console with a new controller etc... It will always be around in original form, just like Pac-Man and Pong.
BTW, let's all hope we can go back to the old interface. I like the classic vertical spinwheel with basic colors, not an updated modern look. |

Personally I'm hoping it gets more popular around here before then though, so maybe I'll get a machine within 30 miles from my house... |
DDR might die. Dance games will not. They are pretty much here to stay. Ever single arcade has some form of dance game these days. Do you think fighting games, shooting games, racing games, etc are just going to dissapear in the next couple years? No, they aren't, and neither are dance games. |
