I think that calling it Extreme 2 would be ok. 9th mix would also be fine.

No "Extreme 2." There's only been three sequels I liked better than the original: Ghostbusters 2, Super Mario World 2, and DDRMAX2.

Purple... hmm... not exactly a color I compare with "intense" or "dancing." Although it's better than it being black or something.

Festival looked and sounded great to me, I think it should be called DDR:Ecstasy or DDR Rave and consist of only... rave. Max300 to Love2Sugar to Ecstasy (midnight blue).

You have to understand that songs can't be more than 2 mins. Songs like é©å½ and MAX. (period) are "pushing the envelope" by being 1 Min., 50 Secs.+. If every song had it's original length, then there would be a lot of unneccassary Long Versions. And to waste a whole stage because of 10 extra seconds would piss a whole lot of people off. KONAMI did it for our convenience.
