There seems to be a lot more of a stylistic range with ITG's music as opposed to DDR's. If you check out a DDR machine, you will find a LOT of music that would be either Eurobeat or much like it. ITG's steered away from this and has gone into more varied styles of music for their game. I think there's a better chance of someone liking music from ITG than DDR, but of the people who like each, I think there's more of a chance of someone liking a higher percentage of DDR's music than ITG's. Roxor has seemed to be willing to put stuff in that wouldn't be the most popular just to more fully round out their selections.

That being said, I've got no problem playing either one or enjoying music from either. Although I've got ITG2 in my playlist lately... but that's mainly for familiarization with songs. E1.gif

Actually I like DDR songs better in general - there's more variety, from the Sana Molente (sp?) to Paranoia (for the hardcorers), and I don't mind the trance stuff (So Deep) - but the genre I really miss is the decent 'raps' (closest there was was Rekkid/DJZombie - which was good!). Tough Enough is good for the pop stuff - but ITG could do with a couple more (for the young-ins going "COOL.. we got Britney on there" factor).

I missed songs like Superstar (original, not that funk'd up version) and a nice soul song (Secret Rendezvous).

Maybe I'm just weird - but every song on ITG is about hardcore.. high BPM's and insane feet ;).. I think it needs a new category called: Pafo..

Light, Std, Hvy, Oni(Expert), Pafo ;)

What I'm hoping for is (at least) one pafo-able song on each machine (without delving into 'basic'.. and preferably not medium .. thought I'll take it if that's the best I can do).

I am however looking forward to ITG2 - after hearing Cryosleep in it. The sheer number of songs on the ads seemed to give me hope that there'll be something for everyone (even for picky dancers like me - heh).

Enough rant - sorry if I offended anyone.

here is how I look at the music:
ITG music = about *8 months old. (may be more)
DDR music = *3 and 1/2 years old. (may be less)

I'll always have a place for DDR, but I've played EX, 7th, and 5th mix to near death. And Like I posted before ITG is a nice change.

Also the music in ITG seems more like music, and not midi files....

Anyone else feel this way???

*Numbers reflect my play.

Midi files don't have vocals.

Hardcore of the North. No, you're not the only one hearing MIDI-like melodies.

The sound quality in HotN is awful. The only thing going for that song is the fun melody (which is just a traditional song from... somewhere, anyway) and steps.

Hardcore of the North is supposed to have midi-type audio. Some people (like me) like the sound of it! As long as it dosen't sound like an ol' Sega Geneisis synthisyzer! .....bweeeeeaaawwww

You're forgetting about the console versions, especially Ultramix 1 and 2. I like a lot of the new songs on Ultramix 2, but a lot of them suck too, like Monkey Punk. *shudders*

Bubble Dancer has been and will be the best song ever on any dancing game.

I'd jus like to say that ITG's music is well worth a listen b/c there are some songs that are pretty awesome and don look half bad when ure on expert *grins*

Though i must say that DDR music in itself has and will stay on top of ITG until ITG has more come out....

were talkin a crazy friggin ratio here....

and about DDR consol veriions

WTF!!

since when do we need crappy songs in a ddr game such as Like a Virgin, Kids in America, Monkey Punk, Tittle Tattle, Hit and Slap........

This list goes on and these are from DDR Extreme (ps2) and DDR Ultramix 2(Xbox)

Thus is mai opinion and ima stop talkin now XD

Listen it is not really fair to compare these two music games songwise. One was made for one side of the world while the other was made for the other side of the world. DDR has eurobeat and stuff like that because that is what Japanese people like to listen to. ITG has tried to appeal to the American audience but with no known USA artists or noticeable songs from the radio. I really don't think ITG music appeals as much to the average American as the USA DDR home versions do. Yes, an average American would rather dance to YMCA than to Bubble Dancer.

It's actually grammatically correct. I't's a compound-complex sentence with the second clause inverted.
