In the next few days, Konami will be making an official announcement for a national DDR tournament that they've been planning for the last year or so, and has been set into full motion thanks to the new Community Manager at Konami, Ryan Iyengar (DukAmok).

Basic highlights include -

-Regional satellite tournaments taking place throughout the US through Gameworks.
-Winner from each regional tournament will receive an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas in December for the national tournament.
-Konami plans to advertise this VERY heavily and plans to have 150+ participants at EACH regional tournament.
-"Thousands of dollars" will be awarded to the winners of the national tournament.

Head on over to the thread in the tournament board for more information.

Wonder if it'll have cash prices similar to pump, in the 50k range.

I hope they don't run it on DDR X, or if they do, fix the issue with the pads.
Would make a terrible tournament to do something on this.

I noticed they are running it on Supernova and Supernova 2.
Why different versions?
That doesn't make any sense at all.

If they want to show the world just how much they've fuxed up the recent arcade versions of DDR, this would be a wonderful way to do it.

I hope this isn't some horribly out of season April's Fool's Day Joke. If this is real, I'm definitely in. I hope they have a no-bar division like they did for the recent 2009 Machine Dance Championships.

considering that about 80% of the prize support is gift cards TO GAMEWORKS, I'm not sure how many people you're going to get out of state.
