LMFAO no they didn't. The scene was already dying by then. Ask any veteran. |
At least in Japan it was dying. From what I remember, it was booming in the US and from around 03-early 05 were the best times i've had playing DDR at the arcade. Then again i'm not a player from 98 or anything, but it was still pretty populated and a hell of a lot more of a social experience than it is today. |
Every place sorta had its own wave. Some places had "revivals", and some (like 8otb) never really "died", the people that came in just changed.
I used to play in CA, and by the end of 2003, I didn't see any of the "usual" players hanging out anymore. It could have been that they were just at SVGL or some other location, but from what I observed, it just sorta ran outta steam. In NJ (Laurel Lanes) we used to get a steady stream of regulars until I came back (2004). A freak occurrence happened last Saturday though, we had a coin line going and it took an hour for a turn to come around - it was nostalgic. |

Now the only place can have a great fun ddr experience is where I go on vacation. Wildwoods NJ. |

I'm sure this has been said before, but this is what I hate about DDR the most:
