Erm...isn't this supposed to be a DDR forum? I said Japanese and DDR related stuff, not just plain Japanese! E15.gif

Cuz everytime you got reported for something, you'd delete your post, thus deleting evidence....But still'd be a nice feature....

I'd just like to say, for Discoman for translating the kanji (although I knew Oni meant Demon)...

この子の七つのお祝いに!

Except that doesn't work at all. You don't know the language. Stop. HAMMER TIME!

Maybe YOU don't know what that says. You would've translated it if you've known it. Besides, if I didn't know, why do I know what that says?

& this is the 1st I've learned of the kanji of the Beginner-Heavy symbols. How long have you known that, Discoman?

How do ya say the Beginner kanji?

"In seventh celebration of this child"?

I might be a little rusty because that doesn't seem to make much sense. Maybe it's something cultural that I'm missing that your average weeaboo (AKA Zoniku) would be able to inform me about.

Close. 7 Cheers For This Child.

Ya know.

Supernova?

Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini? (How do you pronounce that last word?)

& I don't know much JPN, I'll admit. Just cuz I know DDR JPN titles doesn't mean I speak JPN. I don't know much aside from some stuff that I learned in JPN class a couple of years ago (plus DDR, which doesn't help at all & some other random words). & I was about 12 back then. & we only learned to SPEAK it, not write it.

& let's not start a meaningless fight again. Last person got some warning points.

The name doesn't ring a bell, probably because I've never played Supernova or even seen the songlist. Whatever.

EDIT: And the last "word" is actually the nominalized verb iwaimasu, meaning to celebrate (nominalized to mean celebration), followed by the jyoushi "ni" basically meaning in, so it's "in celebration", the 'o' is for respect. This is the best pronunciation I can type out : Oh-ee-wah-ee-nee.

If I'm incorrect, someone will correct me I'm sure.

You haven't even SEEN the songlist??

Wait, talking AC or PS2, cuz 7 Cheers has yet to be on PS2, which I'm hoping it'll be on SN2 PS2.

I gotta admit, though, that WAS close.

Thank you. That's been bothering me for awhile.

Nope, I haven't played the game, I haven't seen the songlist, I don't even read threads about Supernova here. I'm not really interested in DDR anymore, I pretty much just come here out of habit.

If I didn't know what it said, then I'd have no grounds to tell you it made no sense, eh? No, I don't know Japanese, but I'm sure you and I are pretty even here and, like Baggage said, it really doesn't make sense. Weak BEMANI pun, at best.

Some songs make awful GETIT?!'s.

Oh, I figured out where my translation went wrong. It's not referring to the "seventh celebration", it's counting celebrations, as in "seven celebrations". That was a retarded mistake.

Meh, I always felt like 激 is more like "vigorous" or, uh, dammit, I can't think of another good translation. Basically, when used as an adjective, 激 sort of intensifies whatever the noun was, for example, 激痛 is "excruciating pain", as opposed to just 痛, which is "pain". So heavy is a more intense version of standard, I guess. E15.gif

Simple enough. Zoniku. It's pronounced しゅう, or for those that don't have Macs or language packs, shuu.

Beginner = Shuu
Light = Raku
Standard = Gyou
Heavy = Geki
Oni/Challenge = Oni

I know, these were already said, but oh well.
