No it's not - on ITG, it would be cool, but DDR's arrows are harder to read at higher speeds, and they lack mods like Hallway, Mini, Distant, etc. to make it readable on.

Plus, there aren't any c-mods to practise the song on before you actually attempt it.

No, it just means you lack any skill whatsoever.

That was a little harsh, but I can see where you're coming from.

Yeah, All you need to do is practice. I can read up to about 600 with no problem. Also, yes for regular Step Mania, the background vids make it lag terribly. For SM 4, there is no lag, but the vids are almost completely off screen. Any idea how to fix this?

You try reading 1200 BPM Overhead, then say I "lack skill".
Because most ITG players don't play songs with high speed-ups on 1x because it makes everything before the speedup hard to read. On R21 and StepMania, I play this on 2x Mini or 2x Distant if I don't use C-Mods - but that must mean I'm absolutely 100% awful at dancing games though, right?

What about the people who use Mini (or Hallway, etc.) just for the heck of it? Do they not have skill?

I'll do better: reading 100BPM Overhead.
Can't believe people can't deal with 100BPM anymore. I find nothing even remotely difficult about reading the song, beginning to end.

Purely from a musical perspective (haven't gotten around to SM yet), I think this is quite unique. Now, I highly doubt I'll be able to pass it, since I suck at DDR, but I would play this if this was on a machine.

For some reason Konami wouldn't accept it.

It's stupid for anyone to expect them to. How big-headed to go to Konami, who have only ever accepted a fan-made song as part of their musicianship contests, and say 'I've made this song you can't refuse, put it in your game!' and be all pissy when they turn you down. And it's a remix of the Max songs, I'm sure Konami has had a huge number of emails from people with remixes of their own, wanting to have a 5000bpm song full of 16th jackhammers in DDR Extreme 3.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

How do you get comfortable reading at both 100 and 573?

I play it on 1x. 100bpm isn't the most comfortable speed, but remember - it speeds up immediately. As long as you can make your way through the song's beginning on 1x, you'll be fine - 573 bpm is much easier to read on 1x. Just think - back in the Dark Ages, there were no speed mods and people had to learn to read slow bpms. You can do it! I believe in you!!

And to close debate on whether or not it's a cool song based on the mods available in DDR, let me point out that -hey!- it's not going to be in DDR. If it's on an ITG dedicab, that's thanks to the R21 patch. Outside that it's never getting into an arcade.

Never bothered to speed mod in my life. I do realize it makes my PA go up, and a nice run at x2 can often nuke a few Greats off my record, but I still prefer to go x1 and try to achieve that same score at regular speed. As a result of playing that way all my life, I've been slowly branching out in speeds, and now whether it's I'll Make Love To You or MAX. (period), I can read it comfortably at x1.

Seems a lot of people are having problems with the background videos. That's a shame, since I think it's truly the best part of the song. Okay, cute, it speeds up, sounds decent, but the appeal to me is having the numbers count up in the background. It makes things seem more... dangerous. E10.gif Also, I didn't know what speed it got up to when I first played it and I was wondering when it was going to stop.

Yeah I was in the same boat with the numbers in the background. I was pretty sure we were going to hit 1000 or something super ridiculous like that. Then 573 flashed in the back and I was like - oh, sweet. The video's half the coolness of the song. Still, it makes my Stepmania a piece of crap and I took it out.

I think as a Max song the steps are a little lacking. They're not interesting enough, not quite 'there' somehow. I'll run it through a few more times to get a better idea as to what I'm trying to say. It's kind of like a concept piece though, and it's a really cool idea implemented pretty well.

What song has 1200 BPM? And can you read that?

Slow songs aren't that hard to read, I never understood why so many people have problems with bag. -_-

No your not. It's your choice. I just think that a really good, well-rounded player should be able to read very slow and very high BPMs with no problem.

Why would anyone play MAX. on 2x?

They wouldn't, but it's not necessarily out of the question.
