The longest song that was composed for DDR (i.e. not a crossover) is KAKUMEI, at 1:51.

Nope, Kakumei first appeared on IIDX 7th Style.

19, November is also over 2 minutes long. E-motion, at 1:09, is the shortest song on DDR.

Actually kakumei was intended for ddr 7th mix but was on 7th style also. They came out almost the same time, 7th stlye came out a week before I think. So Kakumei is really a ddr composed song.

P.S. I heard this somewhere on ddr freak.

I believe the longest ITG song is 2:05 with Delirium (A lot of people think it's HotN but it's not, I checked.) Maybe there's a longer one, I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

Actually, Fly Away by Missing Heart (2:11) is the longest song in ITG.

As for the shortest, probably e-motion for DDR (under 70 seconds) and Spaceman for ITG (1:41).

Turn it On is also exactly 2:11...apparently Esperanza for ITG3 is 3:56, but I'm sure the version I have wasn't for the actual game.
Shortest: Birdie from ITG2. 1:33. Spaceman is second, I think.

DDR 5th mix had a few long version songs that take up two stages to play however.

I totally understand why they are short - they are meant for arcade gameplay.

However, I use PSP revolution (Stepmania clone on the PSP) and I'd really love a song that is 5 - 10 min long (like some trance/electronic remix).

Somebody took Ayu Trance 2 and mixed all the tracks together and created steps for it. It's around 45 minutes I believe. If you'd like it, just PM me and I'll send it to you.

The version I have on my computer is 1:33, but the version on ITG2 is a few seconds longer, so I'm not sure if it's actually shorter.

Birdie is 1:42 for me. I don't see why a 350-step song that nonetheless looks extremely easy to play would be so much shorter than all other songs in the game. Also, Turn It On is 2:10 for me, even though it ends rather quickly.

Keep On Movin' is 1:07, but e-motion Romantic Style (UM3 songpack) is 1:06.

A lot of Ultramix songs are in the 1:45 to 2:05 range, it seems. Toe Jam is 1:59, Max300 SMMM is 1:48, Love is Dreaminess is 2:01 (and has a gigantic full-combo!), G2 is 2:04, and so forth.

Many of the longest "mainstream" (that is, arcade) DDR songs are by Taka: Kakumei and Colors at 1:51, Absolute at 1:50, V at 1:47, A at 1:45, and so forth. Some of the shortest are by NMR: Keep on Movin' (1:07), 20, November (1:09), Let Them Move (1:18, still pretty short). DJ nagureo too, with 20, November (1:09 or 1:15, depending on version) and 5.1.1. (1:14, also has the fewest steps of any Heavy chart).
