Though I have playing little PIU and no ITG at all, from watching many videos and hearing a lot from people who do play the other games, I'm going to say ITG. The addition of mines, 11+ footers and more put ITG miles ahead of DDR in difficulty.

The competition isn't between anything and DDR, but between ITG and PIU. DDR is impressively easy compared to the other 2.

Stepchartwise, there is no competition in difficulty. PIU wins. However, there are two very distinct difficulties in dancing games: Passing and scoring.

I still hold, due to PIU's large time windows, that ITG is the hardest dancing game to score, while PIU is the hardest to pass.

DDR is just the hardest game to get away from.......because it's everywhere.

Alright then.

Since I have little experience with either, I can't truely compare them head to head. The few times I haved played PIU, I have either picked difficult songs without realizing it or played on a machine with awful pads.

You must not know how Pump scores. If you hit a step in ITG, it will give you some kind of percentage no matter which step you hit. It will always be the same. PIU scoring is based upon combo and most consecutive notes hit. Getting a huge score is much more difficult because a miss in the middle of the song could determine a good 1/4 of the songs total points being lost. Missing an arrow in ITG would only kill the percentage by that one and only arrow.

1. Posting stupid dance game spinoffs as the hardest dance game is about as funny as saying BUTTERFLY MAX SURVIVOR UNLIMITED SAKURA BAG SAKURA BAG ZELDA PARANOIA 180.(Period)

2. PIU>ITG>>DDR

3. This thread fucking fails. It's only going to turn into a PIU NO ITG debate that will last forever.

4. ROFL ohshititztony (whatever name?) was banned.

5. Seriously...if PIU was a 4 arrow game, how much different do you think the charts would be (well raw wouldn't spell anything >_>). They would be quite different, but still rather difficult.

ddr out if the question but what i think about this whole passing and scoring issue...

we dont necesarily know if a 12 circle and a 12 bar song are of equal difficulty especially cuz its a different game. therefore i belive we cant assume that someone playing a 12 footer who will get about 98% or so and then someone of equal skill played a 12 circle and got an A wouldnt that meen its harder to score because the songs are harder n such

like i know the timing window is easier but these songs are plain harder than ITG's 13's

w/e i confused myself someone hlp me out

Pump. I hate it with a passion. I personally think DDR is the easiest of them all (most fun too). ITG and pump are more of a challenge, although i like ITG way more than pump.

itg becomes easier as you get more stamina and know the beats of the songs, but most people i know say pump it up is hard because they started with ddr.

ITG wins as far as speed, PIU wins as far as difficult stepcharts, and ddr remains fun because you dont die after playing 1 song (pandemonium makes my chest explode!) goog.gif

Determinator comes fairly close though, but yeah, PIU is harder.

Are some sections of the violin 1/24ths? Because if they are then that's easily the fastest that actually requires motion (so drills are irrelevant).

Seriously people who don't know wtf they're talking about when it comes to PIU don't just say that that means ITG is harder. and when people find out there's a middle button there all like ZOMG /-/AAAAAAAAArd but it's not... I played PIU for a year until I first played DDR and I can do everything in DDR well, pass most 12s in ITG, but I still can't even do half of the the crap in PIU. It's hardest, it's always been hardest, and it always will be hardest because it's not about scores (usually if you pass a song you'll get at least an A, especially on X2, it's kinda hard not to.), it's about the good old days (like when you were on Standard or couldn't pass 10s) where the satisfaction is in simply surviving to the end of the song. That's what it's designed for. And FYI rolls are retarted, not hard.

The 4, 5, and 10 panel modes on TechnoMotion are very easy compared to DDR/ITG or Pump. 8 panel was disorienting, but the patterns were really pretty easy. If you think TechnoMotion is the hardest, it's because you haven't played it enough.

Because most Pump players play with stage break off, passing is a toss up between Pump and ITG. Pump's charts are without a doubt the most difficult, and many of them test a person's physical limits, so in this department there should be a consensus. VerTex^2 Double Expert is entering killer territory though. No one seriously plays Pump for accuracy, so the comparison should be between ITG and DDR only. DDR is fairly difficult to score on if you take into account the marvelous window, which is so tight that perfects can be caused by pad error. You have to take into account the fact that so many DDR song are very offsync and some even drift as well. ITG has more technical patterns that make accuracy more difficult however, and because Marvelouses are only on in courses, I'll have to go with ITG here.

Finally, stop comparing Pump double with ITG single. Of course Pump is still harder, but the comparison is pointless.
