StepMania Grading Question

I'm pretty new to DDR. I've played with my friends a bit, but I just got a pad of my own and downloaded some songs for SM. I'm not very good, still just practicing on mostly 4 foot songs, but SM doesn't seem to be grading very consistently.

I got FC on two songs, but only one of them displayed as AA. I got AA on Stay (59 perfect, 8 great), but only A on Dam Dariram (112 perfect, 21 great). Is there a certain % of perfects I have to get for it to be AA?

I'll get torn a new one for not knowing for sure but I believe it's about 94%

Yes, 93% DP, just like DDR is too.

To calculate DP, use the following amounts:

Perfect = 2 Dance Points (-0 of total)
Great = 1 Dance Point (-1 of total)
Good = 0 Dance Points (-2 of total)
Boo = -4 Dance Points (-6 of total)
Miss = -8 Dance Points (-10 of total)
OK = 6 Dance Points (-0 of total)
NG = 0 Dance Points (-6 of total)

Your Stay score had 126/134 DP, roughly 94%. It's a AA since you have to have at least 93% for a AA.

Your Dam Dariram score had 245/266 DP, about 92.1%, therefore an A.

AAA = 100% of the total number of Dance Points
AA = At least 93% of the total number of Dance Points
A = At least 80% of the total number of Dance Points
B = At least 65% of the total number of Dance Points
C = At least 45% of the total number of Dance Points
D = Below 45% of the total number of Dance Points
E = You failed the song.
