When was the last time you went to a tap-dancer and called tap-dancing a sport?

Tap rocks, it's physically demanding and catchy.
However, tap is an art form.

The more you think about, the more you'll realize that ITG and tap-dancing have a lot in common. Thus, I stand that ITG transcends the status of videogame and becomes an artform.

However, it doesn't quite count as a sport. It could exist as a sport if all the major cities took it seriously and funded professional DDR/ITG teams that had seasons and eventually led to a Superbowl-like thing (where Mike and Kevin would duke it out lol) But seriously, that's never going to happen. It still stands as just an artform, and not even a widely accepted one at that.

That is VERY true. Almost everyone who has seen me play itg/ddr says that it's like tap dancing...just to better music E13.gif

I'm sorry but Asymptote you made a flagrant error in one of your responses.

Pokemon is not only a sport, but the only sport. It's so much a sport that other sports compare themselves on a sport scale to the pokemon sport.

sports.

It's a gaming sport. It's both. I mean...I do cross country running. That's a sport. I play volley ball. That's also a sport. I also play poker, and like someone else said, apparently that's a sport, so why can't ITG be a sport?

Um, now point to where in this post you are giving a reason that ITG is a sport other than "I like to do some things that people consider sports, and I also like ITG, so by that logic ITG could be a sport"?

Maybe when ITG becomes a highly publicised thing where non-players and players alike are interested in watching big touranments, watching on TV maybe (espn 3 or whatever), and is actually taken seriously by a large group of people as a sport, then it can be one. Right now though, its nothing more than a creative video game with a huge fanbase. Kinda like Halo (minus "creative" of course)...

its should be a sport that you can actually sign up for, like with a team, and VS other teams. But nothing that would be in the olympics. But possibly something on TV, i would watch DDR sports, if it were on T.V, too bad there are almost no girls that play...that are good...

by definition i guess ITG would be a sport, but then so would almost anything (a sport is a source of diversion: recreation; physical activity engaged in for pleasure)

I think we have to draw the line somewhere though and not make video games sports, until they are in the olympics haha.
