Trust you? TRUST YOU??!!! That has to be the dumbest statement I have read in a really long time. Unless you are horribly dyslexic, or just throw up upon seeing slow arrows, there's no possible way you could mistake Pandemonium for bag on any level above Easy. Even Pandy Medium is harder than bag.

I don't think it's so much as that they can't play without speed multipliers; it's more that their scores suffer with lower speeds, so they usually don't bother. At least, that's the case for me...

I cannot read anything on 1x. If it's too slow I do so poorly I do not want to play.

I HAVE to use high speeds and the bar. It can be a friggin' 1 on Novice, and I will still be holding on the bar. I just need the high speeds and bar.

Well I finally beat Euphoria x3 no mines with the controller about 71%

Yes, Euphoria should definetely be a 13.

No.

The rating on a song should indicate nothing other than how hard it is to pass. It also should assume that the player is using a reasonable speed and not senselessly making it harder to read by using 1x or something. (If you read comfortably at 1x, then don't complain if you run into a song that you need a speed mod for.)

Euphoria is nowhere near as difficult to pass as Pandemonium, or half of the other 12s for that matter. It's certainly harder to score on, but the player can determine that for himself after playing it. The purpose of the difficulty ratings is to minimize the risk of someone picking a song that they've never played before, thinking they can pass it, only to find out it's too hard for them.

When you write that 2nd sentence after the phrase I emboldened, it makes you sound like a total idiot. Especially when you ought to be scoring around 90+ when using the controller.

Maybe I'm just uncomfortable around slow arrows. I can 48.XX+% Pande on my poopy home pads that hardly work anymore, and I still have troubles with BAG 1x on Stepmania. Maybe it's YOU are horribly dyslexic and can't read Pande's notes.

I'm very certain you completely misread what I said. That 'note dyslexia' is in reference to bag, NOT Pandemonium. Overcoming a difficulty in reading (referring to bag here, so you don't get lost) is not as hard as overcoming a difficulty in stamina/ability/etc (like in Pandemonium). See, watch this: I can "fix" my reading (understanding I would never voluntarily play 1x unless the song runs a constant 400 BPM or something) by playing tons of stuff on .5x or even .25x on StepMania. I can learn to read at ridiculously slow speeds fairly quickly, because there's little-to-no physical effort involved. On a side note, being able to just barely BS your way through a song on home softpads does not help your argument. My friend can BS July Expert (and get around 65%, incidentally) on my LevelSix softpad; he is unable to pass a 9 harder than Irresistiblement in the arcade.

im not going to call that total bs, but i do find that incredibally hard to believe. i can A psmo with in the arcade, ive AAed lom in the arcade, ive AAAed songs like witch doctor and waka laka, and ive passed july expert first try in the arcade, but even after all of that happened, i havent passed july expert on a soft pad, which i have tried before

Size 17 feet get you pretty far on those softpads; you know, considering how easy it is to set your feet in one position, and then just kind of lightly pulse them (and *maybe* shuffle back and forth a tad) to register the arrows. He *did* incur a few more rips in the covering, though... :\

Note that I said poopy pads, not I BS it. It's mostly pad misses that bring down all my scores. Hopefully I'll be able to 70.00%+ it when/if I get a metal pad.

Not necessarily. I still FAIL Euphoria with the controller. The song is just a jumbled mess of rhythmic embellishments on anything lower than 4x speed, and then there's the whole thing of trying to keep up with the 32nd notes/64th notes, even on the controller.

And to save others the trouble, yes, I suck at ITG Expert, whether with the controller or using the dance pad. But, I'm not wasting money in the arcades anymore now that I have the home version.
