Pandemonium's Medium steps are probably one of the most fun 9-block patterns I've found so far. I'd say it qualifies as a solid 9, just one with a whole lot of steps to fit with the BPM.
Hmm....I don't play ITG too much...but VerTex Medium should be upped a block (I think it's a 7). It requires you to be able to read slower BPM's, or die from too high of a speed mod (you can use the C mods...but it kind of ruins the "challenge" of this song) in the 600+ ending, which I think is pretty cool. _________________

I can't really pass any ITG 10s (There's a couple I can barely pass at home, need to go out to the arcade soon), and even some 9s that I can't pass, but I can pass Pandemonium Medium. It's a hard 9 but not the hardest for me. _________________

Even if some God forsaken "dancing simulation" game titled "Bill Blanks' Extreme Tae Bo Pumping Dance Party Collection Groove feat. Montel Williams" were to ever stick its ugly face out from under my bed, I'd still play the damn thing. "

Yes, it would more than be OK. I used 1x on DDR until I played ITG, and now have much better sightreading capabilities. I went no bar well into ITG, and eventually hit a near standstill in skill level, and it was just too hard to put up with, and now I'm rather glad I use the bar. No one cares if you don't play 1x or without the bar, or at least no one should care; what really matters is how much you enjoy the game, so if you want to take your skill further, go right ahead. |

Ride The Bass Expert seems a bit too easy to be a 9 block.
First time I played it I passed it sightreading (3x, Metal, Hallway) with about a 66.xx%. Second time I played it, same mods, I finished with an 80.xx%.
In general, I currently suck at ITG Hard/Expert 9's: having slop/passed Hardcore Symphony (Hard 9) with a low 42.xx%, slop/passed High (Expert 9) with a low 57.xx%, and Da Roots (Expert 9) is the only 9 block I have passed with about a 72.xx%... aside from Ride The Bass (Expert 9).
Sure, those broken up sixteenth note triplets in the "verse" sections are tricky to get Fantastics on, but they can be "slopped" with even Way Offs without too much loss of health bar.
Obviously, other 9 block songs are much harder (in step density and/or rhythm complexity), a bit faster in tempo, don't have as many recovery pauses, and have stops and/or tempo changes vs. Ride The Bass Expert. I suggest that Ride The Bass Expert has a very good case for being an 8, or maybe even a 7 (regardless of what the Hard difficulty might already be). |

-snip- | I don't know... the purple note parts are difficult, but I find the 1/16th parts following the percussion rather tricky, deserving of at least an easy 9 rating. _________________
