I was reading Konami website (in Japanese) and this name seems to come from story they thought of, this old guy living in room 511, day dreaming or something like that. |

I'm going to clear up all the misinformation. Now.
These are just a few ot the songs that I can't say, and would like to know how:
.59 - It's "ten go ku", not "point fifty-nine." "." = ten; "5" = go; "9" = ku. Japanese frequently use numbers as puns to spell words. Tengoku means heaven.
Daikenkai - Dai Ken Kai. Basically means "excellent opinion."
Gamelan de Couple - Ga-me-ran de Couple. Gamelan is a music ensamble used in South-East Asia consisting primarily of metallophones, xylophones, drums, and gongs; much like the music in the song.
Aoi Shoudou - Ah-Oh-Ee Sho-Dou - Basically means "blue impulse"
IRRESTIBLEMENT - Iirres-tahb-le-men. It's French. Basically means "uncontrolable."
JANEJANA - Jah-ne Jah-nah. It's from a traditional Indian song "Oo Jane Jana"
Kakumei - KaKuMei - Japanese for "revolution." Kakumei is a remake of Chopin's Revolutionary Etude.
L'amour et la liberte - Lah-more et la Lee-ber-te. It's French. Basically means, "love of freedom."
Matsuri Japan - Mat-su-ri Japan. Matsuri means "festival."
Mikeneko Rock - Mi-ke ne-ko Rock. Mikeneko means tortise shell cat. A tortie.
ORION .78 - Another pun. .78 means "na-ha". Orion Beer is a beer made in Naha, Japan.
Sakura - Sa-ku-ra. Sakura means "cherry blossom," or "cherry blossom tree."
SOBAKASU FRECKLES (so bach a sue) - So-ba-ka-su. Sobakasu means freckles.
TSUGARU - Su-Ga-Ru. Tsugaru Shamisen is a traditional Japanese string instrument.

I'm sorry, but GD-IT!!! If some of you take French, you aren't quite good at it.
L'amour et la liberte'
Pronounced (in French): Lah-MOE rehh la leh-bur-TAE (don't open your throat on the last syllable, almost more like "teh," but not quite).
You generally don't pronounce the last letter of a word in French unless the word after starts with a vowel (or it's one of those rare exceptions). Hence why the sound is "reh" - et begins with a vowel, so the final consonant carries over and is pronounced, but la doesn't, so you don't pronounce the t.
And it means "(The) Love AND (the) Liberty"!!!
And I dunno why, but I always pronounced the T in Tsugaru, just very lightly.

| Yeah, the people saying the french names are pronounced just like they would be in English are bothering me. If you don't know the language, don't make something up and spread false information. |

I'm perfectly fine at Japanese grammar thank you very much. But, this isn't a language lesson, either. It's trying to clear up misconceptions of song titles.
If you want to discuss the finer points of Japanese language and pronounciation or argue about how to say things in French, take it to a thread in Random Chat. |

No. It's Ta-KU. If you read his web site, he explains how it's pronounced in his biography. |

Oh, I wasn't arguing with you, rampage. You are indeed correct. Tsugaru is pronounced exactly as you typed. I swear to that. I was not arguing with you. I was kinda poking fun at the guy who decided to argue that the T is Tsugaru is pronounced when you made it perfectly clear that it is indeed not. You are correct. He is not. I agree with you. |
