| i have a little question about the phisiology, ive been sick for about 3 weeks now, and for the first 2 of those, i was fine playing ddr. i wasnt eating as much, because i didnt want to be weighted down. but fast forward to this wednesday, and my pa is fine, but i die on the end run of lom. every time, and this is totally new. the funny thing was that i was good to go stamina and breathing wise within 2 minutes, but my muscles werent there at all(all wobbily, even my arms, and i played thursday and i was ready for a nap). i was just wondering what muscle fatigue could be attributed to, because ive been eating healthier(maybe less though) and drinking more fluids because i was sick, maybe not sleeping enough due to school, but no less than normal. my stamina is fine, just muscle fatigue. im taking a few days off, but in the meantime i was curious if there was anything i can do to get better. i figure it may be my lack of sleep and super ddr playing catching up to me. there may be more factors, but this is huge as is. thanks |

One time I played Laser Quest, and eventually lost all movement in my right leg from the thighs to my knees. I could walk around, but there were times for a day or two that I might suddenly fall down backwards if I bent my knees too much. Give it a rest for a week or two, and maybe you'll get your strength back. Also, make sure to eat good too. When you increase your physical activity, your body's needs go up too. |

It depends on your posture while you play DDR. And yes, it does depend on how much you play and how often you play. I did Afternova (standard) with my back hunched over, and it hurted like hell afterwards!!! It's been a loong time since I play, since my friend borrowed my Max 2 to try it for awhile. And if I start playing hard songs now, it would hurt my legs. So I'd have to work my way up again. Also, PLZ!!! don't over exert youself and get something broken or some problem or something. But DDR did increase my stamina a little. I can't run at all with out taking a breath in like every minute, maybe shorter. But I lasted long after a loong summer w/ DDR and pads. So I guess it does help, but just stay in good posture and don't over exert yourself while playing I know I kinda sound like a doctor and you guys wouldn't probably take advice from a 13 yrs old, but I'm just telling my experience. Yeah, and milk does help. If you can't drink milk, try something with calcium. _________________

If you people really feel bad and such; why don't you just go to the doctor to get checked out. I'm sure your mommies wouldn't object to it. And stop asking a bunch of random people on these boards. None of us are doctors(as far as I know).

Experience determines a lot on what you can say about these sort of things. Not all the time, but there are a lot of people out there, and somebody may know just what a problem would be. If healthy people needed a Ph D. to figure out how to take care of themselves... well you get the point. |

DDR is definitely good for the health.. physically anyway.. mentally is something different now. Personally though, i think sometimes it's used as an excuse. You know.. someone is asked "Why do you play DDR?" and a response of, "It's good exercise." Sorry, I don't buy that.. that might be one reason you play but i don't think it's the main reason for most people. _________________

It is helping our health but destroying our minds.
Like many Japansese creations, it has a cult following and is extremely addictive. _________________

First pokemon and now this... Where is the world coming to...
Anyway, to answer the question, theres a very simple answer.
Play to much, you die. It's like working out. If you work out to much, you can get a heart attack. |
