here in Nor Cal, if someone were to as to go against you, it wouldn't mean anything really, maybe they would just want to play, but if their was some "beef" between two players then we'll call it some competition...

I dont even consider versus a competitive option anymore. Its more like "2 Player Mode."

it depends they could want to vs u cause u look like a challange or they could do it just so they can beat the crap out of u

i think i look of it as a little competition if someone challenges you, cuz a little vs every once in a while cant really hurt.

thats what i always called it...there wasnt anyone really competitive in any arcades ive played in so ive pretty muched renamed vs mode 2 player mode (cause i didnt really see the competitiveness) until then, thats what ill call it myself -=shrugs shoulders=-

As mentioned, I don't even consider it a versus mode. It's just 2-player. When I see someone really good (I met someone at the mall playing on heavy with boost on. His cellphone rang and he spoke on it while playing a song and still A'd it :o), I'd want to play a round with them. So more or less, it's a compliment.
