The first time I saw DDR was at Cedar Point in Ohio. I was there with my family and a friend of mine. Family was off doing their thing, friend and I walked past the arcade. We see a couple people jumping around on this crazy machine. "DDR USA" it was called. Well, I'd never heard of it, but I'm a consummate gamer, and my friend is one of those "looks dumb but I'll try it" types. Plus, it was only a quarter to play.
Sooo...we step up, watch the instructions, and discover Butterfly. Fail. Hard. Two more quarters. Fail. Not so hard. Fast foward to the next day (stayed overnight at one of their hotels) and many more quarters later, and we could ALMOST pass AM-3P. I enjoyed the first game, and have had nothing but great memories ever since (I've had maybe one or two times where people tried to make fun of me, but many many more times where people loved it).
So yeah, loved it from the get-go. |

| Ahh...I remember as if it were yesterday (acutually I don't) but I do remember that I was at Lake Tahoe with my family and 1 friend, I went to an arcade and it was love at first sight (not really love but I felt somethin) and I just had to try it. It was the the very 1st version (1.5 ver) and so obviously I was first hooked on butterfly and boom boom dollar. After Lake Tahoe I just noticed ddr everywhere else and I played more and more of it. And now I've been playin ddr for over 3 1/2 years and people in my town call me "The Queen of DDR" (which I always doubt by the way). So u call that destiny or wut? (Really, I'm askin...) |

Ever since I saw DDR I thought it was awesome and it was fun to watch people do it, but being the socially reserved (read "shy") person I am, I couldn't bring myself to do it in front of a crowd of total strangers. However, at a friend's birthday party at a local restaurant, there was an arcade in the back and some of my friends talked me into giving it a try. The arcade wasn't very well populated and only my friends around so I was able to force myself to do it. Four months later I was in some IRC channel with some people talking about DDR and they convinced me to buy it _________________
