Looks fuckin hilarious and well scares people. Or there is the flailing about on other songs. Being tall, old and having facial hair keeps some people in check. |
That's not an image i wanted to think about. _________________

Actually, the only rude or mean people have been the people that didn't play, that were watching and commenting, or people walking by making rude or obscene gestures. Everyone that I know of that's played and that I know are pretty nice to fellow players. _________________

I haven't got into anyone who's been obnoxious, but I have this weird tendancy to insist to do stuff by myself, without help. Yeah, I play DDR to have fun, but also to see where I stand compared to the best I can play with. It's not necessarly competition, but rather intensive training I'm trying to do on my own. However, if someone needs help, I'm more than glad to share the little I know for now.
It may be pride, I dunno... or maybe I am just too obsessed of acheiving my own things on my own... but most of the time, I try to make it look like I don't need any help.
Yep... come to think of it... it's pride... _________________

i've never actually met anyone that was rude to me when i go to arcades to play DDR on the machines...being only 12 might have something to do with it XD...but i also don't often go to the arcades or mall to play since i have my own DDR system at home. i remember one time when i was just starting on DDR...i went to this place called the Brunswick Zone to play DDR on the machine and tehre were these 4 guys who looked about 7 years older than me and i was waiting for them to finish up on the machines but they just kept playing. being a stupid 10 year old, i politely asked if i could have a turn on the machine and the guy moved over so i could play my easy standard mode game and when i started having trouble...the one guy started dancing the same steps as me backwards. It was quite odd.[/i] _________________

I second that notion.
I tend to make friends easily through DDR, just by watching and complimenting their game and vice-versa. But like many of you said before, the DDR players usually aren't the ones being rude and obnoxious, but the bystanders sometimes are.
However, when I was new to Extreme earlier this year (I had been playing strictly 3rd mix for about six months), I had some questions that I started to ask the locals at the new locations I went to. They blatantly ignored me and probably thought I was some random spectator wanting to learn how to play the game. _________________

I've only encountered a few rude people (mostly the annoying girls that walk by and scream "GO PERSON!!!" ) I find that not only distracting but weird as well. Most people are nice though. Some people are really cool and will talk to you between songs and act human (unlike the screaming girls). _________________

I ought to bring up my courage to talk to older DDR players in an arcade (I have a phobia for talking) I shoud be known as "the silent DDR girl"
Overall I am pretty nice. I like the players pick their own songs, unless they tell me I can pick.
I remember one event that a DDR person was rude to me (I wasn't all the great..I was playing light at the time).
he says rudely "well are you gonna plat or not!?"
HUMPH! I wanted to kill him so badly!!!
I am a bit better now (going onto heavy songs)..I haven't encountered any rude DDR players...yet. The non DDR players are just plain annoying sometimes though.... |

I am happy that most of you meet only nice people, and I wish I could say the same. It seems like I evoke the evil in people, especially the little 13ish year old punk types who think that this 220 lb. 6'0" 22 year old with facial hair is going to suck wind and snicker and laugh to that end. That is, until I show their sorry a$$es up!
However, I did meet one person that was really cool. She caught the edge of one of the arrows and rolled her ankle. I was next in line so I approached to see if she needed any help or whatever. She was really cool and appreciative to the point where she gave me the rest of her tokens. That's what I call cool! _________________
Well, the final total was 207, 342. The fuel pump went out, and since it would cost too much to fix, I donated the Buick to charity.
Fare thee well, Riviera, and God speed. |
