Well, I'm a good friend of his, I honestly don't believe there's a VIDEO of him actually performing his era edit... but i can talk to him and see if he'd like to do one. XD
As far as edit steps go, Aaroninjapan.com used to have them on his site... but that was a long time ago.
Ummm... we have them all loaded in our machines here in Seattle, so if you want to play them, you can just fly up here. XD _________________

| Is that the fecking insane step edit that looks like a massive cluster of arrows? I think I've seen it before, and I REALLY want to put it on me DDRMAX edit steps. A step chart, if it still exists, would be nice. |

| Depending on how fast Shooting Star and 1234007 are those might be reasonable, but those HVAM and R&P are just dumb... at least the era one doesn't have so many ridiculous jump patterns. |

You're just jealous because you can't full combo them
Here's one where I full comboed that "dumb" R&P edit:

Think, people! It's fast with a lot of 16ths, but not ridiculous. |

| Whoa, so that's the legendary Foy era steps? Looks entertaining. i'm assuming that the white arrows are 1/12 beats (Triplets). |

You know, I'm sure Foy would be very amused and happy to hear his Era steps called Legendary.
You know the REALLY cool thing about his edit is how the steps go along to the snare in the background of the song... he put like SO MUCH time and effort into that edit, it's somewhat unbelievable. _________________

Yes, the steps are awsome, and very difficult...which is why I'd like to see a video of a FC on them.
Maybe Yasu can do it (hint, hint), right Aaron? _________________

Hmm, guess I should actually play ddr again if I can pull myslef away from itg. The Era edit I used to get hate mail from and people used to say I was lying about even being able to pass it lol. It has been full comboed. Back in the day I used to make edits with mandatory slides as you will see in the 12th note section, I did not use any slides in the 16th note section.
Well when I first passed it 4th mix was the newest mix and some argued that the little 9 footer called paronia rebirth was the HARDEST song. So you can see why non edit players would freak out at the era edit because they would have no background in difficult steps. Ah well, it is clearly full comboable by todays standards.
Anyone know if Narros has this edit? There is simply no way IZ's pads will do as it's hard to even full combo ANYTHING there. Perhaps I could make the drive for a video there. Or if anyone wants to talk to Aron Take or Yasu I am sure we could get them to FC it.
As far as the 12+ drop out edit is concerned....
I broke it down into many sections and I wrote a faq on it that I should look for somewhere (I sent a copy to aaron a while back if anyone wnat's to bother him for it). This faq broke up the edit into 6 or 10 sections (its been a long time so I can't remember how many sections). I have full comboed each section but I have NEVER full comboed the song in it's entirity and I have not made any thing as diffiuclt to full combo in itg either. The era edit was meant to be fun and hard, the drop out edit was meant to be hard and... well hard again. There are 2 steps that do not go to the music because of the limitations of DDR. DDR does not allow 16ths and 12ths to mingle in the same beat and thus these 2 steps are forever slightly off beat.
If you guys like this kind of stuff then make sure you download the Gentle Stress edit. It is a very fun 10 and is quite easy to full combo. Also I have a cople 9's many 10's 11's and 12's on itg if that game ever get's your way. Some edits took as long as 30 hours to make, so I hope you enjoy. |

oh, if you want a step chart of the 12, then pm me and I'll simply send you the step file and you can make your own step chart:) That drop out edit had to be hex editited back then beacue of the inablilty to put freeze arrows in drop out. The certneatly is no longer the case.
Edit* Yikes, sorry, didn't realize how old this thread was, sorry to dig up a dead topic. |
