Any girl that can pass a 7 footer or higher is like a goddess to me. Suddenly she has a halo around her head. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a guy and I can ace Max300 heavy (Which isn't saying much where I live). It's just so extremely rare to see girls that can play heavy level songs. They always seem to be less dedicated to the game to get that far.

But y'know, none of that matters because I get patronized for playing from both girls and guys. Like this time at our movie theator where thousands of people converge every day. I tried to pass Max300 heavy there, but the arrows were shot. I wouldn't mind had there not been 3 older guys laughing at me and a large troupe of girl scouts snickering and looking generally disgusted. I've yet to play there again...

THAT IS FALSE

UHM, it may be false if you had a national tournament. But in regional tournaments, it is true to some extent at least.

I know I've said this before, but in Washington state, we have THREE HELLA GOOD female DDRers that CAN compare with some of the best guys.

Two - Flotastic and Brain Orgasm have gotten single digit greats on most heavy songs and can pass songs like LoM and Max 300 with relative ease.

Me, I have like 15 heavy AAAs now plus have gotten 3rd and 4th place in some major tournaments in the Seattle area... where we have some of the best PAers in the country.

So please don't say such broadly encompassing things without thinking about other regions that DO have female representation. Just because they aren't in your area doesn't mean they exist.

Like someone said, it's based on a bell curve... more men = more that are good.

I think it can be both a guys and a girls game. I can see us guys dominate the game cause most guys are into videogames than some girls are. Not to sound bias or anything, but I know some girls who are good not as good as some really good male players but good enough than some females. But to me I think it depends where you go.

I'm not really sure what the ratio is in other areas but I know in New England at the tournys, the ratio girls to guys is like 1:18 .. lol. At the last big tournament, I was the only freestyler and there was one other girl who was fricken amazing at tech. Girls aren't usually attracted to arcades.. but I love videogames so I'm an exception ^___^! DDR is for everyone, it's just that I'd like to see more girls representing on the pads, ya know?

I just suppose it depends on the arcade. I went to my local one again earlier in the week and there were more guys playing than girls. Yesterday, it was nothing but chicks.
I do want to point this out, though. I tend to see DDR guys being a bit more arrogant. Case in point, earlier in the week I made a comment about how I needed to warm up before I attempted something new on Heavy. These two guys were like, "A real player only needs their first song of the day as a warm-up." And later when I tried www.Blondgirl standard doubles for the first time, calling it a challenge cuz I had never done it before, they started laughing saying "How could a four footer be a challenge? God, I was doing those the second week I started playing?" Of course I shot back with "I've been playing for three years and am on a comeback from a broken ankle, or else I'd be AAA this, or just about anything else on this machine. I haven't seen you get higher than an A on anything. What's your excuse?"

Needless to say...they left and I haven't seen them in awhile.

On the guy/girl subject, DDR is a neutral game unless they make a slogan that says something along the lines of, "DDR: Play it and guys will think you're hot!" disturb.gif

You guys are all big sillies. Saying that MOST girls are as good as the best guys is COMPLETELY FALSE. Saying that most GUYS are as good as the best guys is ALSO COMPLETELY FALSE. The majority of ALL people ARE NOT AS GOOD as the best, that's why the best is called the best. And don't put his response down as a generalization when the initial statement was a freaking generalization.

*cough*lady mercury*cough* she is the best girl PAer that i have ever seen. but DDR where i am is more of a Guys thing not many girls play it, but i give respect to ANYONE who plays DDR and does it well. So if you a guy or a girl, it don't matter, skill is the only thing that does.

AMEN to that! I'm a girl, no I'm not great, but hey, I've only been playing since Feb. I play level 7-9 singles and doubles, heavy. There's only like two of us in the Springs who can ACTUALLY play, so I figure, I'm alright. Either way, I dont play to say, "Hey look at me, I'm better than you!" I play because its fun! And Fab5.Pencil, you really need to learn some grammer, spelling, and manners E4.gif You seemed nice enough to me the other day, but jeeezzz, calm down. You seem a little sexest.... blink.gif Oh, and to say guys are better than girls at video games is a generalization and catorization. I'm a gamer, and have been my whole life. I have like every system ever made (US, that is). So, you can put your foot in your mouth, where it belongs, and keep it there frust.gif

Point out what I spelled incorrectly. Of course, you spelt "grammar" incorrectly, but I wouldn't have pointed that out if you hadn't because I'm not like that.

Yeah well, its also 4 in the morning here and I'm stuck at work, so right now my biggest concern wasn't on if I spelled GRAMMAR correctly or not, it was just to tell you off a bit for bashing girls E4.gif

Nope, not uptight at all, in fact, quite the oppisite. I just get tired every now and agian of everyone playing the game like some huge competition and degrading one another because of their skill. I also don't like being told I'm no good, just cause I'm female. Oh, and I'm REALLY tired and still stuck at work....need...sleep....
I promise, deep down inside I really am nice.....just a little cranky right now........ E4.gif
