Lots has been happening at the Konami booth at E3! First, the Xbox version of DDR has officially been announced. It will be entitled DDR UltraMix, and will have Xbox Live compatability for Internet Ranking, online play, and downloadable content. The game will contain licensed tracks, as well as Challenge Mode. Gamespot has the details.

Meanwhile, IGN has some details about MAX2 for the US PS2. Beginner mode, Endless Mode, and Nonstop mode will all be appear, as will a special "music video" mode featuring videos from the songs. MAX2 will also "link" to DDRMAX and Konamix in a currently unspecified way.

Songlists for DDRMAX2 and UltraMix are out!

DDRMAX2 (PS2):
Days Go By / Dirty Vegas
A Little Bit Of Ecstasy / Jocelyn Enriquez
Into The Night / 4 Strings
I Feel / Akira Yamaoka
Tsugaru / Re-Venge vs. De-Sire
D2R / Naoki
Twilight Zone / 2 Unlimited
Still In My Heart / Naoki

DDR UltraMix (Xbox):
MGS2: Mission R / LED
What Is Love / Tomosuke
Mind Parasite / Tomosuke
Keep Your Body Movin' / Thuggie D
On The Jazz / Johnny Dynamite!
Quickening / DJ Taka
Electro Tuned (the SubS Mix) / TaQ
Overblast / LED Light
Lets Talk it Over / Shin Murayama feat. Argie Phine
Kind Lady / OKUYATOS
Look To The Sky (True Color Mix) / System S.F. feat. Anna

DDR Freak has much of our staff on the floor. Expect more reports in the near future!

Some fairly certain but still tentative info:

Breakdown (according to a few screenshots)
Auto Play mode - some of the ign screenshots show Auto Play at the bottom of the screen

Now somebody go get me a demo disc so I can extract the tentative song list. Whee!

You have to be a member of the press. The Gamer Advisory Panel doesn't cut it. Sorry.

From the look of the screen shots, the actual music video for Days Go By will be the background. That good enough?

I went over to Gamespot, and they've added about seven pictures for DDR Ultramix. After inspecting them thoroughly, I found these song titles in the backgrounds:

CONFIRMED BY DDRSPOT
Let's Talk It Over
Look To The Sky (True Colors Mix)

UNCONFIRMED BY DDRSPOT
Candy (Heart)
Drop The Bomb (The imfamous "first" screenshot)
Sana Morette Ne Ente
The Earth Light

The appearance of Candy (Heart) is VERY intriging. Looks like the X-Box owners are getting a "best-of" U.S. collection, and then some.

From what I've been told, the actual music videos for Days Go By and Take Me Away (Into The Night) will be used as the background FMVs during gameplay. I, for one, can't wait to freestyle to Days Go By. =\;-D

Edit: Just talked to Mel, Breakdown is a speculative song, but hasn't been tested yet. Couldn't hear him too well over the floor noise and crappy cell phone reception on my end. They said they'll head back over to the booth later and see if anything new has come up.

That's not fair. Now I have to go out and buy an Xbox frown.gif.

Oh and is that all that konami was talking about? What about that thing you guys had posted earlier about them coming out with a new game or something that has you singing and dancing and stuff. What's that all about???? All I know is I can't wait to get my Xbox and stuff cause then you will know who the best ddrers are out there. The only problem is making sure both players are using a pad and not just using the controller because that is just like cheating and It will not really prove anything,

Puting the actual music videos in the background was a good idea. Now Konami can be lazy (when it comes to video creation) while still looking pretty cool biggrin.gif

It's because everyone's on the floor, and it's not like people are running back to upload pictures. I believe only one of the mods there actually has internet access, and that's at the hotel.

We'll get them eventually, just be patient. E10.gif

I'm not sure if any xbox owners looked at the pictures closely... I have a couple comments about the xbox version

1. Screen shot of Drop The Bomb??? will it be on xbox version??

2. Little yellow combo text stand for longest combo? (maybe)

3. Is there a new grade system because theres a letter near the score box

Anyone notice these comments or are they mis leading

From what I can tell, the big counter is PERFECT combo, and the little bar is just normal combo. That's pretty cool.

Ultramix sounds great so far (QUICKENING!!!!! MIND PARASITE!!!!!!), but those screens look... a lot like DWI/Stepmania. Meaning very low quality, but the characters look good.

I'm already happy with DDRMax2, Twilight Zone is in it happy.gif

Actually this could be a great thing because you could have online tournaments. Instead of having to travel thousands of miles you can play the tourneys right online.
