That webpage seems to be very outdated and sucky. I would absolutely question the accuracy of the information... especially considering that whoever made it doesn't even have information about any of the "slightly" newer mixes... plus, he says that machines like 3rd mix were released in America. They weren't. They were imported, but not released. Anyway, ther person says there is only one DDR Karaoke machine in existance in Japan..and it is "so big" that it requires it's own personal DJ and studio... Regardless, sounds ridiculous to me.

A lot of Korean Karaoke places in like California, New York, and Dallas have DDR Pads hooked up to their Karaoke machines so when someone sings it you can play DDR to the song they're singing.

Actually a Kareoke version of DDR3rd mix does exist, although it is very rare and not in america <that is why it is the only mix to have lyrics at the bottom of the screen>. I also remeber that 3rd mix was the only japanese mix allowed to be in america.

Edit-I just read the website 99% is BS. This kid makes no sense half the time. I have never even heard of DDR-internet ranking, and I have played for 2 years and been intrested in playing and learning about DDR for 2.5-3 years. I also never seen a club mix machine <not saying the don't exist since they have the appends for psx but it seems very unlikely.>

Possibly but I don't recall any internet ranking codes on it. I could be wrong since I have only played a 1st arcade like twice.

Okay kiddies time to set the record straight here is your study material.
http://www.konami.co.jp/am/AM/list.html
Scroll down till you see the DDR section.

Now then:
Yes there were lyrics in 3rd mix.
Yes there was IR back in the DDR 1st Mix, and 1.5 Mix, days.
Yes there was a club version of DDR 2nd ReMix where you could "session" with someone playing on a IIDX machine.
Yes there was a hugeass karaoke type version of DDR that was most likely "sessioned" with a IIDX machine.

If you are referring to the DAM-DDR Karaoke mix that supported upwards of 20,000 songs, then yes, it exists, but it is extremely rare, and only found at Karaoke bars (I know of only one left around here: The "Big Echo" Karaoke Bar in Kanazawa-Bunko)

Here are some pages with more info (all in Japanese, sorry). The first one is Konami's site with the DAM-DDR info.

I actually know that guy, and that page is OLD. He's no longer on Geocities, but on Tripod, so that is years old, seriously.

And I've never even heard of this DDR Karaoke thing, sounds kind of.. not good.

1.5 = 1st mix + IR. Technically yes, 1st mix did have IR.
