Moderator of the Month

Each month, the DDR Freak population decides on a moderator of the month by a poll. The moderator selected is an example of the best our forums offer and go above and beyond the call of duty.

October's Mod of the Month:
PMG!

Name: Gerard Gustilo

Age: 21

Nationality: Filipino/Chinese/Malaysian/Spanish/French

Location: Riverside, CA

Kids: None.

Been playing DDR since: November 1999

Freestyler, Perfect Attacker or just for fun: Just for fun, although I am known for my crazy freestyles back in the day.

What drew you to DDR in the first place?: My friend that worked at a local arcade told me to play it. I thought it was the stupidest thing I've ever seen. But once you got on, it's like crack. Totally addictive.

What is your favorite DDR song?: Oh I dunno.....Petit Love? :-D

What is your favorite bemani song?: Probably rottel-da-sun from Beatmania IIDX 6th Style. C'mon EveryBODYBODYBODYBODYBODY!

What Bemani do you play outside of DDR?: Beatmania Classic/IIDX/III, Drummania, PPP, Mambo a Go Go.

Favorite bemani game: Beatmania IIDX

What is your favorite aspect about DDR?: The fact I've met my closest friends through the game. This website is proof that no matter who you are, that you can find people who share the same passion you have for this videogame. Although my friends and I don't play as much anymore (if at all), we all hang out and I could say if I hadn't started playing DDR, I probably would have never met them at all.

How long have you been coming to DDR Freak: Since it was ddrfreak.n3.net (Yeah, I'm THAT old school. Keepin it REEEAL!)

How long have you been a moderator?: I think when these new forums got started up, I was made a mod. Then I took a short hiatus for a few months, but now am back and have been kickin it ever since.

What helps you keep your sanity while moderating the site?: Patience. Since my main priority is socal, you get to know very easily how some people really are. Whether they're jokers, or shy people, or come on the boards to intentionally cause trouble. Being able to filter through and weed out those who shouldn't be here is something I've gotten used to.

What do you enjoy doing outside of DDR?: Music (both listening and playing), nightclubs, poker, socializing, cooking, camping, videogames. I'm very easily adaptable to most anything, and will try anything.

What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?: African or European Swallow?

Why are you so damn sexy?: Because that's just the way I do things around here.

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?: I'm probably best known for my DDR Fresstyles at the now classic Arcade Infinity Tournaments. I dressed as Jigglypuff and with my best friend (who was Pikachu) we wore tight leotards, thongs, and beat the crap out of each other for a minute and a half.....fact that there were about 500 people watching was pretty nuts too.

Boxers or briefs?: Both, and boxer-briefs are fantastic too. Support and style.

Favorite food?: I don't have one. But if you were to ask me my favorite restaurant I'd have to say Rio Carnivale World Buffet in Las Vegas just because they have EVERYTHING there. Japanese, Chinese, English, Mexican, Brazilian, Italian, American, you name it, they probably have it. And in case you're wondering, yes I'll get something from every place.

Favorite song?: Oh jeez, I love all music so I couldn't really say. If there is one song I'd recommend for anyone feeling down, or depressed, I'd say Edwin McCain - I'll Be. Excellent Ballad.

Favorite movie?: Fight Club. The book is excellent as well.

Favorite book?: Look above.

Who should win the 2004 U.S. Presidential Election?: Neither one of the main candidates. In the words of Jesse Ventura, "If I vote for Kerry, I'm going to have my taxes raised. But on the flip side, how can I vote for a president who refuses to support stem cell research because it goes against God?" I have news for you Bush, if you're waiting for God to cure Alzheimers Disease, you're going to be waiting a VERY LONG TIME.

Who do you admire?: Teachers. They should get paid more than anyone else in America. More than rappers, businessmen, movie stars.....anyone.

Give me a quote: "You may tie my hands with chains and my feet with shackles and put me in the dark prison, but you shall not enslave my thinking, for it is free like the breeze in the spacious sky." - Kahlil Gibran

Any other thoughts?:Thank you all for those that voted in the first place. Whether you voted for me or not, you voted for someone on these forums that you admired and thought was well deserving of mod of the month, and for that, all of us mods thank you.
